The larger is more of a geographical, features type. The smaller shows where most of "humanity" dwells.

This map shows the general location of the major tribes of humanoids. You'll note that all appear to be on the western side of the great continent. Also, on a previous map it is noted that the Ancient Dwarf Realms is in the southwestern section of the great continent; I have amended this on subsequent maps and relocated this former kingdom to the north of the great volcano.

As time goes on, I am going to place published modules (JG, TSR, etc.) that I feel "fit" the theme of my world. These will likely be only those pertaining to ruins and such, but along with the adventures I plan to provide myself, there should be enough to keep a playing group satisfied.

I'm posting Kardagin Keep (pronounced: car-day-gun), as it is the largest human settlement on the borderlands between Dun Mark and the wild lands to the west. It isn't stock-filled with nonplayer characters, because...well...it wouldn't be OD&D if it was! ( ). But I will probably provide some minimal stat info regarding the Captain of the Keep (Milo Turpin); and his retainers/guards/menatarms. For now, just the map.

This is to be filed under "miscellaneous" building map. Was going to use it for something but, other than the text on it claiming Abandoned Abbey, I cannot remember for what. It is certainly generic enough for anyone to take and tweek to suit one's own agenda. So with that in mind, feel free to use it.

Here are the two (main) terrain maps I am incorporating for the Troll Fens. Random EncountersEach small hex entered/crossed has a 1 in d6 chance of a random encounter occurring. The Referee can create his or her own tables, or use the following. 1. Ants, Giant (6-36) AC8 M9 HD 1/2 D 1-3 + poison 2. Crocodiles ( 3-12) AC6 M6/12 (swimming) HD2 3. Dragonflies, Giant--(1-12) AC7 M15(flying) HD 1/2 4. Frogs, Giant--(3-18) AC8 M3/12(hopping) HD 1/2 5. Snake, Python--(1-3) AC7 M3 HD2 D bite + constriction 6. Wild Boar (2-16) AC6 M12 HD 1+1 Trolls (2-12) should always be a placed, encounter. AC4 M12 HD 6+3, and may be substituted for any of the above. Set Encounters (to be added soon)

Here is my suggested table for "Set Encounters" in the Troll Fens.1. Harpies (2-12)* AC 7 M 6/15(flying) Hit Dice 3 %IL 20 Treasure C 2. Trolls (6-9) AC 4 M 12 Hit Dice 6+3 3. Giant Crocodiles** (12-20) AC 5 M 9/15(swimming) Hit Dice 6 4. Trolls (6-9) same stats as those above. 5. Giant Leeches** (2-12) AC 8 M 6 Hit Dice 2 6. Trolls (6-9) same stats as those above. 7. Trolls (6-9) same stats as those above. 8. Will O' Wisp* (1) AC -8 M 18 Hit Dice 9 9. Hydra, 6-headed (1) AC 5 M 12 Hit Dice 6 %IL 25 Treasure B 10. Giant Crabs** (3-12) AC 2 M 6 Hit Dice 3 11. Trolls (6-9) same stats as those above. 12. Purple Worm (1) AC 6 M 6 Hit Dice 15 %IL 15 Treasure D Should all the trolls listed above be slain, there is a 15% chance that the Troll King might appear seeking vengeance. This specimen is considered as having AC 2, M 15, HD 11+1, and having a bonus to damage of +3 to the die roll (4-9)! * From Greyhawk supplement I ** From Blackmoor supplement II If treasure of any sort is indicated, ignore the possibility of anything being magical if you are running TLL as laid out in my many posts; such things do not lay about in The Lost Lands, waiting to be picked up. (Note for DMs: while such things might appear in the few adventures I've designed for TLL--i.e., The Goblin Warrens, etc., those things are provided simply for your use if you are running a standard campaign/adventure that includes the magical component.)

A good general list as related to swamps, given some slight dimension through the one inter-relationship (i,e,, the Troll King variable).
Question: Is it not assumed that the majority of those DMs using this will do so by adapting it to their campaigns and thus to their pre=-existing structures and design attitudes? If this is the case then I see little reason for your end note regarding treasure occurrence in the The Lost Lands. Playing the LL straight away as you do, yes, as that is your attitude (and a one that I hold for Kalibruhn as well) but this would certainly change from campaign to campaign.
Given the time I would like to use this as a design exercise, which I would post in the workshop, and regarding the use of relational dimensional attributes that Gary and I used in our campaigns, With your permission of course, and with the intent of expanding upon the encounters as written.
Keep designing CCC!

By all means, Rob , use away! And, yes, I shall amend that 'final note' to reflect this exact thought; I just assumed (silly me! lol) that folks would be rushing to use TLL as is!

These will likely be only those pertaining to ruins and such, but along with the adventures I plan to provide myself, there should be enough to keep a playing group satisfied. I've located these adventures on the great island map of The Lost Lands. Keep in mind that if running any adventure in TLL as the intended campaign, any magic referred to in the product should simply be ignored; if you are merely using the maps and creating your own campaign, you must decide for yourself what you intend to allow.

So what program do you use for mapping these?

I use the (already) installed Paint program. Its very limited and the visual-definition is...just average. But its what I'm used to/comfortable with.
