@the Perilous Dreamer...and I would gladly join in. The kids are no problem. I was "this close" to getting a group together during the summer months but kids are what made it fall apart. It turned out that the only reason those of us with kids got the invite was for our kids to keep the other kids occupied. One of the people with kids wasn't bringing them because they were going to their fathers house. Short and sweet, there was a big, melodramatic production by a relative (one of the players) about having a nervous breakdown about entertaining kids. I just politely bowed out. Sorry to hear that, sad an "adult" acts like that. It is fun gaming with kids - talk about unique and creative - fresh eyes.
I hear you! It was pretty frustrating.

Yeah, that is unfortunate - Ohio seems like a looong way from Helsingborg, Sweden... Now that would be fun, take a trip around the work and game in as many cities as possible. If I was ever able to travel like that I would definitely let you know. Now if you are ever coming here you let me know. Now that you mention it, I vaguely recall reading about someone actually doing something like that - travelling around and playing games all over the place and hanging out with gamers in different countries. Pretty cool thing to do. If I ever go to the States, I'd gladly accept that invitation! And you'd certainly be welcome here too!

Great! Hopefully one or the other of us will get to make that trip!

Out here in Houston now where I can't find an Old School game to save my life. Really? I'm out just past Sugar Land and in that boat, too. I have a friend who wants me to start a game, and I found out a couple weeks ago that the husband of one of my wife's friends was a gamer back in the day and wanted to rejoin the fray for an old school game. Plus, we're having a new house built with a dedicated room for gaming...

These days, I rarely play or GM -- can't get out much. My youngest grandson and as many of his friends as show up, as well as the 7 and 8 year old granddaughters, when they can focus, love my house ruled hardly-any-rules adventures. You never know what the kids will think up! The 8 year old granddaughter, who had just decapitated a zombie, wondered what would happen if she put the head back on the zombie. What indeed? I decided the zombie would return to unlife and continue its attack.
So, these days, the group is from 2 to 7.
The largest groups I ran were in Denver and Oklahoma City (the No-D&D Gamers of Oklahoma) where we had up to 20 players at a time. This goes back to 1979 or so.
