www.luccacomicsandgames.com/it/2015/games/programma/educational/lateral-thought-processing-in-real-time-rpg-design/In English: Lateral Thought Processing in Real-Time RPG DesignThe workshop will provide a conceptual grounding in real-time processing of design procedures and assumptions by comparing open and emerging thought to standardized marketed formulas prevalent in our hobby and industry.
Through this juxtaposition participants will be exposed to the design ranges as both DMs and designers that were utilized by Robert J. Kuntz and his counterpart, Gary Gygax, during the crucial play-testing of the D&D game.
The workshop stages will include: introductory conceptual grounding, select exercises, and follow-up discussion.

Sure wish I could have been there - maybe someday we might be able to persuade you to do a workshop thread on here for us?

I had intentions to do that with the designing/design Thread I had mentioned in the past. Instead I have been sprinkling tiid-bits here or there throughout other topics. I am currently making up for much lost writing/design time from my move and will have to sense when it would be good to start either. The workshop was full +1 with 11 English speaking participants; and I utilized a dry erase board in relaying graphic thought guides. Everyone applauded afterwards (maybe for it finally ending? ). Joking. One guy followed me down the street talking (most of the participants were aspiring designers) about some follow-up questions, and then stated "that he had come seeking to learn specific things that all designers do and instead learned a more important point: to teach oneself to sense and think in design terms>" In essence to teach oneself by being able to identify design and the rise or lack of various thought paths within it.

Independent thought, criticial thinking and how to teach oneself and learn on your own. How to think creatively and continually go beyond where you were before. The skills that schools should teach rather than creating standard round pegs for standard round holes.
