I was saying maybe the Smoldering Wizard runs the forums? <ducks> Throws fireball and he goes up in smoke and then smolders for a while. Ouch -I failed my save! Let me grab those 3D6 and start rolling...

Are any copies of it in an editable document? Certainly! Scroll down just a tad past the pdf versions on this page and you will find Latest Editions - Editable for House Ruling...Smoldering WizardWhy does the spelling of Smoldering look like it should be Smouldering? I know the first is right, but the second looks better. Honour, Armour and etc., all look better to me than the American spelling, which is odd because I've never even been to the UK.

I follow the Smoldering Wizard blog, and have lurked around the forum a few times. It is run by Doug (aka the Smoldering Wizard). Mostly it is dedicated to Swords & Wizardry.
On the forum, Charlie Mason (the author of Whitebox: Fantastic Medieval Adventure Game) is fairly active.

I don't think creativity is ever wasted unless it is hidden away.

Some people play some of the clones to varying degrees. If I were starting out now, I would get a few of the clones, and then come here to learn how to put the life back into the game. The clones are good and bad, the bad part is they have been sanitized for the most part of the vagueness and ambiguities that made the original great, plus all of the flavor text at the beginning from Gygax is gone. If I were going to write a clone, I would have to create my own flavor text.
