This thread is an evolving discussion on how mass combat should be resolved in order to preserve the fun of D&D without making a thousand rolls and calculations to resolve a large battle.
Tetramorph is currently running a hex crawl campaign for higher level characters using these rules, and it has been really fun to switch back and forth between the two scales of play.
The goal of these rules is to increase the amount of time players are having fun and reduce the amount of time they aren't having fun due to tedious rules.
