A bit of Play by Post history of the forum is this. The forum was created on January 12, 2015, went live on February 12, 2015 and by the end of February the first Play by Post game was being started. So Play by Post gaming was part of this forum from the beginning.

I am glad to know this. I sincerely hope this forum keeps going into the future with vigorous discussions, thread-resurrections, new members, and of course PbP. Who knows, maybe I could even run something someday.

When you start looking at running a play by post I would suggest reading this thread ( Running a Play-by-Post Game) by makofan. Before his health declined he was running if IIRC 12 or 14 games at the same time spread out over multiple forum, some were Traveller, some were IIRC D&D and some were IIRC something else.

I have read and drooled over that excellent advice more than once. When I suggested a separate publication with advice, essays, reflections from experienced people, this is one of the kinds of things I meant should be included. This should not be allowed to die should the forum ever expire or anything, these great things should be in easily distributable PDFs.

If he ever comes back I would love to ask his permission to include it. But we will get to where we are qualified to write it ourselves. I think he may have posted it other places. We could do a search and if we found quite a few write-ups by different people we could do short quotes, footnotes and commentary.

I would write something about the experience of doing it (probably something very short...) for the proposed 'zine.
