Service Hstory: Enlisted in Scouts. Voluntarily reenlisted for second term. Chose not to reenlist after second term.
Background: Aarav joined the Scouts looking for "adventure" but found himself doing routine x-boat system work and so decided not to reenlist and instead to "seek his forture" elsewhere. He's starting to realize that may be more difficult than he'd reallized. . . .

Say, Eris, might it be possible to get just a bit of recent background for Aarav: what's happened between leaving the service and finding himself watching the altercation at the starport?

Heck if I know!  Let's think about it... Maybe he took a ship board job on a ship bound for ShirLea, but had a real falling out with his Captain on the way and decided to leave the ship, or was tossed off depending upon how you look at it. He's been cooling his heels here for some time now, as ships coming from Romulan space are few and far between and ships from further out in the unexplored Mantan territory are even more rare. How does that sound? |

Maybe he took a ship board job on a ship bound for ShirLea, but had a real falling out with his Captain on the way and decided to leave the ship, or was tossed off depending upon how you look at it. He's been cooling his heels here for some time now, as ships coming from Romulan space are few and far between and ships from further out in the unexplored Mantan territory are even more rare. How does that sound? I like it. Let's go with "tossed off" that ship, though he'll keep that detail to himself. He never really liked that captain anyway. . . . |

And would it have been the Romanian scout service where Aarav served? Yes, it would. The Romanian Empire is centered around the system Romania a couple of subsectors back. It covers most of 4 subsectors and is the biggest in the local space. The Megacorps based there, like Delgado Trading, trade across it and into surrounding "barbarian space." Delgado is looking to open trade in Mantan sub-sector...that's why they hired Clear Sails to move their people (Factors) and trading modules (Factories) out toward the Mantan system. |

So as it happens, Aarav has some fairly high Soc (while not being very edu-ma-cated), which seems a bit odd for a young former scout. I'm going to assume this means that he comes from a relatively prosperous family "back home" and will think a bit about why it is he has come to the "barbarian fringe" instead of returning to that likely comfortable life. . . .
