I wanted to wish the US based membership Thanksgiving today not knowing how many will be online checking the forums tomorrow on the proper day. Everyone please take care and be safe and have a wonderful day tomorrow.

Happy Thanksgiving all! Are there holidays this week in other countries that are being celebrated by members?
IIRC Canada celebrates Thanksgiving in October, do any other countries have a Thanksgiving?

In regard to Canada, I think you may be right. Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! We eat at 3:30 PM today. My wife's sister is coming up from Cincinnati and we are going to the Berwick Manor for a Thanksgiving Buffet right down the street. That works good for us and I have stuff in crock pots for "left overs" through the weekend. Thank you simrion and your new avatar brings back good memories of my youth. So just jumped on and now right back off. Everyone have a great time today and remember your blessings and everything to be thankful for. All of you are just one of the many blessings in my life.

Despite what you've heard, it's been a good year. I think most of us have enough to eat, we have enough money to afford this forum and the internet, we each have someone who loves us, and 98.6% of all politicians are still immoral idiots. In other words, if we meet these requirements, I think we have muchness gratitude in our heart of hearts. (What DOES that mean, anyway?)
So Merry Thanksgiving Day, whether you celebrate it or not. It's still a good world, even with idiots, evildoers, and every driver on the road except ourselves. Permit yourself enough joy to get through the day.
And thank you, for being who you are: the best dang rolegamers in the whole dang world. (With apologies to Andy Griffith.)

Belated Happy "Turkey Day!" It's been a rough year or for some here a rough few years :-( I tend to be a "glass half full" kind of guy and am truly thankful for what I have and what I can share with others. Keep the faith my friends! We will get through these rough patches :-)

Just wanted to reach out and share my heartfelt thanks for this OD&D community. I plan to be very thankful for all that life has brought to me so far including this fine gathering here at "The Ruins." I will raise glass to absent friends and family as well. I hope this Holiday finds you all happy and healthy, or at least as healthy as can be during these uncertain times. Happy Thanksgiving to those here who celebrate.

Happy Thanksgiving!! To one and all! Hope that everyone has a great day and are able to enjoy the day with friends and family. Although my family is having a rough time with a very recent death in the family, we are gathering today to give thanks and to comfort one another. I have a 90 minute drive ahead of me in a little bit, but very worth it.
Whatever your circumstances, may you be blessed today!

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! I hope your day is blessed!! My son and I are going over to celebrate at his mother's house. Some people think it's odd but we are both adults and we always spend at least a little bit of the holidays together. Besides, my extended family is crazy with a capital C-R-A-Z-Y! It's always a breeding ground from drama and I refuse to participate. I'm grateful that others can be mature and we can enjoy the holidays.

My Mother, my ex-step Mom and my current step-Mom all get along. Of course they all have something in common, my Father! Life is too short so embrace the C-R-A-Z-Y

As a comparison, I found I Love Lucy and similar comedies too painful to watch a second time. By painful, I mean when people do really stupid stuff, it is hard to watch again, because their decisions make you cringe. You want to intervene and stop the train wreck and you cannot.
