I decided to transform these old toys (by chap mei and dated 1994), out of the mists of my childhood, into characters from a classic and mannerist original d&d
fantasy campaign that I am designing based on Wayne Rossi's implied setting. Since the world represented in
outdoor survival is a post-apocalyptic land full of hostile creatures, I developed the concept, or rather the suggestion, of "demon haunted land" in this sense: after the magical collapse of ancient Nolybab the world was invaded by the forces of chaos. The few remaining islands of civilization know that three great demonic lords from other dimensions tread those lands and gather monsters and brigands. In the classic depiction of the great demons of advanced d&d, such as
Orcus and
Demogorgon, I will develop the manageable profiles of
Sabnock (the undead lord, whose axe causes gangrene),
Kokabiel (the underworld knight carrying the scimitar of division,
vorpal, lord of fear and murder) and
Balam (the all-knowing sorcerer lord who carries the sapphire scepter that grants him invisibility).
Obviously without any moral implication or heroic-chivalrous direction, as always. Just bizarre nightmare creatures.
And even today we did a good old school deed 😁
PS: For those wondering, the characters are bootlegs from the
Skeleton Warriors series.
