there are ovr a dozen diff letters represented in the game. You must play 8 diff letters w at least 5 cards in each letter. Some are far more important than others. By the rules, "A" should not be played, far too weak. I'll go over them. Each letter goes up to st 10

S is for ship
These cards are your main force, there are 3 main types
Major Empire> These are the main fleet that you will be fielding> Each major race(of about 15 of them) represents about 80% of the S cards you need to play with Minor Empire>. Based on how many Major Ships you have, you may field 1 Minor for every 4 Major ships in your deck, they vary greatly in usfulness and Power. Independent> The Blue ships can be played in any number but if you field too many , it will cut down on the number of minor ships that you can play
Several of the races are unplayable and several stand out as must play, My house rules are almost unrepresented in this letter

T is for Terrain
The planets nebulas and comets provide the points you need to engage(use) your ships and Bases. This is the most problematic of the letters. In order to keep their head above water, they financed their debt w promo terrain which anyone could pay to have a T made that stood far above 95% of the T cards that were included in the regular sets.
A few of the Terrain cards were more useful for their special abilities such as The T4 Reactionary Word which could negate reaction cards

My fav is prob a marine deck where you have a lot of crew combat cards for E quipment and crew destruction w a smattering of ship damaging

P and F are Psionic and Field
There are 2 major races that the "crew" are the offensive and defensive cards. They are effected by cards that effect crew and may be targeted by weapons fire. They use Fields like "spellbooks", and in fact they were adapted from a Fantasy game that one of the fans sent them(he also sued them I think.)

I think thats all the letters Next Up How to play Comedy Club, as a faction, is just stupid. Totally ruined Installations for me. However... without Comedy Club and their Installations, I really like the card type and what it does/did for the game.
