multiarms, mao, and The Semi-Retired Gamer those are great stories, thank you for sharing and anything else you would like to share. As I was reading these I remembered something I had forgotten. When I was about six my dad brought home a bunch of green army men and also a bunch of ball bearings from broken machinery. My sister and I divided up and organized our armies for battles. We used wooden Lincoln Logs for barricades here and there along the lines. The smaller ball bearings were the guns, larger were cannons and bazookas. The old house we lived in at the time had linoleum over wood floors and it was old and uneven here and there with cracks and ridges. We fought out many a battle with those features and equipment.

Thanks! Will do. Your story reminds me that we had a sandpit by the big tree at my childhood home. We used to have combat out there with our old Star Wars and GI JOE figures. Of course, some of them got left out there and have been subject to the ravages of time. I bet there's a small fortune out there...
