As part of the things we celebrate this year is the 50th Anniversary of Blackmoor so we are proclaiming this: 2020 - The Year of Blackmoor - 50th AnniversaryA guy who goes by @fraggle Rock on MeWe just floated this idea in the past few days in terms of playing and running games, after talking with him I am adding forum and blog posting to promote the event throughout the year.
If you want to be part of it, post in this thread. Whether you are going to try some Arnesonian school gaming or do some posting or whatever it is. Let us know.
Check this thread for updates and eventually links. If you find a link relating to this, please post the link in this thread.
Sadly there is no way to link to posts at MeWe, but I plan to share anything from there to this thread and to my blog.

Here is a reminder to everyone, along with celebrating 2020 - The Year of Blackmoor - 50th Anniversary, (and posting about it) , please don't forget that January is International Original Dungeons & Dragons Month and that January 25th is International Original Dungeons & Dragons Day.

I have been seeing the posts and figured it was pretty much too late to say anything. Thing is, 2020 is only the 49th anniversary of Blackmoor, officially anyway. <shrug>

OH btw, April 17th is my birthday and I did think it would be a bit selfish to promote my birthday as the birth of Blackmoor and the birth of role playing. Then of course David Wesely, David Arneson, David Megarry, David Hargrave and then I am David too. I do not believe in coincidence, and I am the number one fan of OD&D, some say I am the only fan of OD&D. But they severely underestimate the OD&D fan base.

I have been seeing the posts and figured it was pretty much too late to say anything. Thing is, 2020 is only the 49th anniversary of Blackmoor, officially anyway. <shrug> Arneson is dead and no one else has the right to claim anything about what the " OFFICIAL" anniversary is, having looked at the evidence I think that 2020 was the 50th anniversary and that Blackmoor is older than the published version of Chainmail. So the officially claim in the quote is bogus.
