I picked up a copy of the Complete Wizard's Handbook this weekend. It's always nice to have new spells and ideas for wizards.

My local game store owner says that February is a tough month and for some reason not so many gaming products get released this time of year. A bummer, because I've been visiting twice a week (once to play, once to DM) and keep hoping to find something cool to throw money at.

I went to this nostalgia/toys fair yesterday and found a bunch of RPG magazines (among them a few issues of White Dwarf), some Games Workshop miniatures catalogues and Warhammer booklets. For the price of roughly $1,50 a piece I thought it was quite a bargain!

I'm kind of worried that I'm starting to turn into a collector. My last three purchases were a Moldvay Basic boxed set, a Cook/Marsh Expert boxed set, and a Chaosium Worlds of Wonder boxed set. And now I've gone and bought a Chaosium Questworld boxed set.

Well, it isn't exactly an RPG, but it is designed to help out in writing and campaign setting creation so I thought it would be appropriate to post it here. I was at one of my LGS (not necessarily so F, too big) and I saw: The Story Teller's Thesaurus: Fantasy, History & Horror by James M Ward and Anne K Brown It is pretty rad, I must say.

Most recent for me have been the WOTC reprint box set of OD&D (primarily because I didn't want to take out a second mortgage for proper originals, and I heard about a great deal on it from a distributor in canada), and an original box set of the old' Aftermath!' post-apocalyptic rpg that I adore so greatly.

I guess my latest purchase would have been Lamentations of the Flame Princess together with Questworld. The last thing to arrive in my letterbox, though, was a nice copy of Delving Deeper which was the result of a gentlemanly swap for some Prentice Rules. Cake not included.

I have picked up Paul Gorman's Magic Swords for Swords and Wizardry, James Edward Raggi IV's Random Esoteric Monster Generator and Daniel R. Collin's Original Edition Delta: Book of War.
All awesome resources.

I just picked up the PATHFINDER Beginner Box a few days ago. It may be "new school" but it does an outstanding job at introducing concepts and distilling PATHFINDER down to a much more manageable set of lighter rules to ease into the full system.

Decided to splurge this paycheck I've just ordered, but haven't yet received: -Blueholme (Physical saddle-stitch direct from Vile. Info: dreamscapedesign.net/2015/05/23/blueholme-prentice-books/ (all of the following are physical books from Lulu) -Delta's book of war (Haven't started looking for a reasonable copy of Chainmail yet; Saw a couple on Amazon for over a hundred bucks?!?!?!) -Courtney Campbell's "Hack & Slash Compendium II" (excellent assortment of tables; greatly expanding on his 'treasure' pdf) -Fight On Magazine's, #'s 9-14.* *I ordered both of the compendium's for this series. The first is issues 1-4, the second, 5-8. I DO NOT recommend buying like this to save money if you plan on using these wonderful, phenomenal, ridiculously awesome 'zines at your table. Get them individually. The compendium's are, each, almost as big as the OSRIC hardback by Black Blade. Very difficult to manage at the table. I'll upload pics when I get them

What a great day! Kindly Mr. FedEx man has brought me the following gaming treasures: Now, I have a physical copy of the BLUEHOLME Prentice rules (OUTSTANDING job on this, Vile Traveller!), Delta's 'Book of War' which I am now in love with, Courtney Campbel's 'Hack n' Slash blog compendium II' (An amazing treatise on treasure and a great help when dungeon-making), and single copies of the issue's of Fight On! magazine that I didn't have before. Now, with my compendiums, I've got all of them. Huzzah!

It's not a strictly RPG purchase, but I just got a card game called BOSS MONSTER 2: The Next Level earlier today. The look and feel of the game is very reminiscent of old school NES games and instruction manuals.

I picked up Burning Wheel Gold the other day and have been reading through it. I don't know whether I'll ever play it or not but it's got a really interesting way of doing things. Also got Barbarians of Lemuria, Mythic Edition, recently as well.

Nice to meetcha Todd Links are hard to do from my phone. Are you familiar with the OD&D74 proboards? You can find info on Fight On magazine there; It has a sub thread in the community section. For Deltas book of war, Google the name and look for Delta's blog as the address. It should be easy to find. Same for Courtney's Hack n' Slash compendium. Just Google "hack n' Slash blog comendium" and make sure the link address is the hack n Slash blog. Both are great books, and worth your time if you like the old way of doing things. I'm sorry I can't provide direct links at this time I'll try to do that for you when I get home later today. Fight On!

No worries, I found them. Also forgot that I picked up City-State of the Invincible Overlord and the DWP reprint of Empire of the Petal Throne (1987 I think) a little while back. They're currently at the top of my to-read list.

Just a little bit of thread necromancy won't hurt, huh...? I've been having this on my want list for years, and by coincidence I finally found a used hard cover copy of Call of Cthulhu (third edition) online. I just had to have it!

Nothing wrong with a little thread necromancy!
I've always been interested in Call of Cthulhu but I've never been part of a session. One of these days...

There is a purchase that is not exactly my latest, but it looks close to release at last: Revolution D100Alephtar Games basically tired of rules changing and having their licenses pulled by various D100 publishers (i.e. Mongoose and Chaosium), so they've gone indie and produced their own rule set. Some interesting things in there, and very modular. I can't wait to try it out at the table.

I remember borrowing the third edition from a guy back in school but never came around to actually play it, unfortunately. After that most of my co-players weren't into Lovecraft the way I am, and nowadays I don't have a group to play with... But hey, at least I've got the rules now, so maybe one fine day...!

Since I'm seriously considering making a personal BRP retro clone/tribute there might be stuff to get inspired by.

I bought The Dreams of Ruin a while back after a recommendation from YDIS of all people. It's... interesting. A domain-level adventure unfolding over decades, with ramifications that could resound through lower-level play and some excellent atmospherics for uncanny forest adventuring. If I had the pleasure of a regular and guaranteed group it might be an interesting one to weave into a whole campaign world and gradually draw toward the centre of things as levels are climbed. I am curious about Lords of Gossamer and Shadow and might give it a look when I next have some mad money.
