Right now, I play and ref nothing.
I would like to ref or play again. Play any pre-advanced D&D (ok, or 1st Ed...). Ref an OD&D clone, most likely.
I like the tone of this board and the manageable size. I have a feel for a good number of posters. People post cool stuff all the time, and it keeps my interest in the game going. I like DF and 74, too. But this place is the one I visit most.

I prefer running 0D&D games, but run all kinds of RPGs, and am currently playing in a 5e campaign run by a Millenial GM (Twenty-something), as a 4th level Fighter... I'm here because I was here already pretty much at the dawn of RPGs, when RPG play began, as I started playing and GMing back in 1977, in a splinter gaming group in Colorado.

I referee "The World of Ram's Horn," which I do using some bits and bobs from OD&D. But don't assume that just because it's written down in those books, it's necessarily true in my world.

Me here because I am sick to death of play balance and fairness as concepts to be mandatory in rolegaming worlds. Neither real life, combat, nor high adventure is fair. Adventure isn't adventure if the heroes aren't outclassed.
Tarzan, Conan, and especially John Carter won by perseverance, cheating, and the good graces of their writers. But rolegames aren't stories until they're over, and I love seeing Very Unlikely characters become heroes during play - often despite themselves.
There is no other experience like rolegaming, where you can almost smell the sweat and blood, and still go home to a safe bed. The closest thing in real life is defensive combat and I don't recommend it.

Me and my brother (we are open about this) got touched by those gay guys when we were small, and momma marched in and told the principal in a one on one conversation with no witnesses that those so called teachers would resign and give up their teaching license or they would have a very short life span and if they touched any other children the principal would face the same fate and advised him that he did not want to test her on this. That's why we are not at that other place anymore, you can't say anything other than those pedo's are wonderful people over there. |

As a victim of such things and knowing too many people also victimized by such things I tend to take a hard line on pedos and I am hardening my stance on other deviant lifestyles but I try to treat others fairly even if I disagree with their lifestyle - except pedos, rapists and women abusers.
