OOC: I normally won't put words in mouths or thoughts in heads, but I want to see if I can facilitate Gil, Charles and Takheal getting together so...
Charles leans against the bar and watches as a spacer, by his clothing, strolls over to the cat-man's table and starts talking to him. The alien and the spacer start to chat, they look like they are getting along well enough.
Gil is a bit taken aback by the alien's blunt demand that he tell him his name, but he is an alien after all, so he probably doesn't mean to be rude.
Takheal is somewhat ambivalent about the human's direct approach. It's rude...or maybe not, this is a human after all so it might be normal for one of them. Takheal, however, is a bit pleased by the human's approach even if rude to talk to a stranger without an introduction. Takheal really does want to find a ship to take him off this planet, and maybe this human can help with that.

Gil radios Raven, "Captain, I've met a couple of sophonts that are looking for crew berths or other passage that would like to speak to you. I'm under the impression that we were leaving in a few hours. Is that still the case or are we planning on a later departure?"

OOC: Refreshing the scene.Gil is on the phone, Takheal is seated at the table, and Charles is leaning against the bar. All three have their filter masks dangling around their necks. The bar here at Leroy's is mostly empty, at this time of day, and there are few diners across the hall eating in the dining room. Regardless of the time, though, the gaming tables are busy. Suddenly there is a loud "THUMP!" from somewhere inside followed by an even louder explosion that shakes the floor, walls, and ceiling and throws everyone to the ground! OOC: And no, Peng hasn't launched a missile into Leroy's...yet. Maybe someone else did? The room is quickly filling with smoke, the acrid smoke of burning chemicals! The lights went out, but red emergency lights have blinked on, but don't show much through the smoke. None of you see anybody on their feet moving inside the bar. None of you feel like you are particularly injured, but all of your ears are ringing, muffling sounds. Takheal finds the table he was seated at turned over on top of him. Gil has been thrown onto the floor and his phone is out of his hand, somewhere, but not in sight. Charles went sailing when the explosion happened and landed on his side on the floor, something hard is under his hip. You can dimly hear shouting and noise from outside the barroom, but its the crack of gun fire, followed by another number of shots, that immediately draws all of your attention. What do you do?

He has no weapon, having left it with the rest of his belongings in the hotel room to avoid problems with the local authorities. First things first; he dons his filter mask and checks it for integrity against his furred face. Then, he moves to the front of the building, and looks out through the window.

Takheal, however, is a bit pleased by the human's approach even if rude to talk to a stranger without an introduction. Gil quickly gets his filter mask in place and reaches for his stunner (assuming it's not an overtly illegal weapon). He also starts looking for his phone. "darn it!" he thinks to himself, "It's always something on these runs!" He notices a man crawling over to him and responds to his question, "Not without the Aslan! Takheal! Are you uninjured?" As soon as Gil locates Takheal, they will try to get out of Leroy's without drawing fire (but he does want to take a minute to find his phone).

The stunner (taser) isn't illegal but it needed to be sneaked in as any weapons are against Leroy's policy. Gil succeeded in sneaking it in and now has it in hand...remember you need physical contact with a target to inflict damage.

As Takheal steps into the corridor he pauses. To his left is the air lock to the outside. To his right is the wide corridor to the gambling hall. Across the hall is the double doors to the dining room of restaurant. There is a large hole where the air lock used to be and several bodies are on the floor near it. There is gun fire coming from his right in the gambling hall. He can see smoke bellowing out from the gambling hall down the corridor toward him.

Charles fitted his filter mask and stuck to the man's side. Charles OOC: Good! I was going to suggest that to you. IG: You both see Takheal paused at the door to the bar. Gil is to Charles' left and a step ahead of him. Gil has what looks like a stun gun in his hand. Charles notices movement to his right and sees the barman coming up from behind the bar holding a sawed off shotgun! He appears to be taking aim at Takheal. OOC: Charles and Takheal are both starting to feel the effects of the smoke and atmospheric taint. They are going to have to pull their filter mask up pretty soon or they're going to be in trouble.
