My rulebook arrived yesterday and I've given it enough of a look to give a few thoughts...
1. The rulebook appears to be nice & sturdy so that shouldn't be an issue. Drivethru packed it good so no damage either.
2. The title is not on the spine of the book. Probably irrelevant. It's just something I noticed...lol.
3. My overall general impression is "familiar but different". This can be seen in several areas.
4. The book begins with creation of the adventuring world. There are various tables for assistance.
5. Available character classes are Fighter, Cleric, and Magic-User. Class Specializations such as Monk of the Green Robes and Paladin are also detailed.
6. In addition to the standard races, Orc and Balarauk.
7. Prime Requisite affects experience required instead of experience earned.
8. There are 6 saving throw types.
9. Feats are part of the rules but they are covered by guidelines on how to judge characters performing tricks like landing in a saddle after jumping off a roof, catching arrows, etc. instead of a laundry list of standardized feats.
10. Skills are covered in a similar fashion.
That's a quick list of 10 observations. I need to do more reading before I do more posts about COZ. I'm pretty pumped about these rules so far!

I am looking forward how the author works Feats & Skills in a OD&D style game, plus I want to know more about the Balarauk race if you can tell us about them too The Semi-Retired Gamer.

I'm saving Feats and skills for later but here's a bit on the Balarauk.... 1. Also known as Baledraug. 2. Part of the dragon family. 3. Winged humanoid creatures with a dragon-like appearance. 4. Age like dragons. 5. Can begin play at a later age; increased hit dice. 6. Can glide but not capable of true flight. 7. Their heritage offers magic resistance. How's that?

Very intriguing race, might fit the niche for Dragonborn.
