Hey Q Man, I know you have quite a few irons in the fire right now, but I have you get back to these threads too.

A few quick comments... >>>1.) Ascending AC Of course people did this if they wanted to. There is actually some evidence that Blackmoor AC was ascending >>>18.) All Humanoid Races are Playable That's in the 3lbb's, not to mention the FFC! >>>19. No Level Caps for Non-Human Races Pre D&D Blackmoor had no level caps by race. >>>23.) More Attacks and Extra Damage Dice at Higher Levels That's in the 3lbb too. Also you can look to Blackmoor and the use of "hit" dice as damage dice. The idea is also in EPT. >>>25.) Spell Points or Casting Rolls Spell points were used for a time in pre D&D Blackmoor. Read more: ruinsofmurkhill.proboards.com/thread/2034/rules-new-school-1970s-options?page=1&scrollTo=26488#ixzz5HSR9ewTBHi @aldarronm thanks for the informative post. Is that the link you intended since it is for this same thread? House rules for my 0D&D games from 1977 on.
I never used ascending AC's
All humanoid races were playable, as well as most monster races. (...see Arduin)
I had no level caps for non-human races.
I had more attacks at higher levels, but not extra damage, every five levels characters received one extra opportnuity to attck in a round (This came out in AD&D also for fighters, and other character classes at higher levels if I recall)
I used spellpoints because we included and used the Caltech variant D&D rules from Warlock from 1980 on. I still let players use the Warlock rules for their characters if they prefer.
