Which is your favorite 1970s D&D supplement, and why? You may select up to two of the four.

I like the expanded monster and treasure lists of Greyhawk and The Temple of the Frog, the disease rules and the monster section of Blackmoor.

I picked GH for the thief and EW for psionics (though I never used the latter in any meaningful way IMC).

I liked EW because I liked the psionic rules and the demons

I like all of them for various reasons.
The first three are great for cherry-picking ideas to port into one's own world. That said, they are also the first appearance of a kind of, creep.
They are, from what I can see, the thoughts and parameters of the authors' personal worlds. It is nice seeing how the designers of the game want their own world to be run, but if they are suggesting that everyone else should just use them instead of coming up with their own ideas, then I am against them. As examples, they are fine. As some kind of commandments, they are not. To be clear, I am not suggesting they should not in part or whole be adapted into anyone's campaign; that is up to each GM/DM/whatever, and I will defend one's right to make their world however they choose using whatever sources they wish. I have done the same for decades, and continue to use other sources when creating adventure products for public use; creating my own system (reinventing the wheel) at this late date would be a waste of time, and likely be ignored by the community. Thus, my commentary is merely a theoretical point I wish to suggest.
That said, I'm not telling this time where I cast my 2 votes. I'll leave y'all to wonder.

Flintstones vitimins were my favorite 70s supplement, especially purple Dino's!

Some say he was never the same before, but that goes back too far.

I didn't vote for any of these. I am just so pleased to have a bare-bones system! Maybe after a year or two I'll add some of the official monsters from Greyhawk, but not right now.

Mainly the Beholder. Can't have a fantasy rolegame without a beholder. And not those icky "death tyrant" types, but cute little floating balls that no one could suspect of being dangerous, much less sentient.

We had to run away from it, and donate some magic swag to its cause before it let us go. Yeah, that was bad. In my own games I've never ran them. Shame really.

I use beholder every now and then, they are one of my favorite monsters. You are most likely to run into young inexperienced ones, those you might survive. The old grizzled ones, well that's another story.
