Cushlomachree, I went all day yesterday and forgot about poor neglected Rob Kuntz, who celebrated his 18th birfday again yesterday - if my intel is correct. With all his traveling across time zones and dimensional portals, I'm not sure if he's in the same year and reality that we are. Here's raising a Diet Caff-free Dew to your excellence and continued robust health for another millennium, Mr Robilar! Roll for Detect Traps! Fumbled your Detect Traps. Roll age X d6.

By the way, has anyone seen Rob or is he still celebrating his birthday? He's younger than me, but still needs to stay out of those damp caverns.

Or as we say in Southern Texas, live long and perspire. Thanks to everyone for wishing me well, fine, good, non-persipring, et al. I don't really celebrate my birthday anymore -- everyone else does, just like when i was born/ It's a great placeholder event substituting for daring not to discourse on the weather/// @"Dartanian" Though I am not Jack Benny I can still stink up the room with a few bad jokes. @ YoyoMan--you are only "older" in body, I have you matched in wit... BTW, your volume of heated air could have blown Harvey off course and saved Houston! jk/ To the rest, no cake for me, the French eat way too much of it already. I sorely miss American deep dish Cherry Pie and all American pies in general as they are not made here; and in latter life I stopped being a cake fan except for the likes of a tiramisu... Merci et au revoir

Merci et au revoir I have always been a pie fan, we always had cake for birthday (German chocolate) but the rest of the time fruit pies flowed out of mom's kitchen along with chocolate, butterscotch, lemon meringue and the like. Apple pie and strawberry-rhubarb were my two favorite fruit pies. I am sorry that you can't get them there. Is that just France or is much/most of Europe like that?

Ah, another butterscotch fan! On my birthdays, Cherie bakes a sugar-free butterscotch pecan pie which, along with 1,000,000 units of Novolog, I get all for myself!

Love butterscotch and I love pecan pie too, but never had them combined, you will please share the recipe, but wife is diabetic and a fan of both. Rob mentioned Cherry pie and the older I get the higher it moves up the list.

Tell her that's what the 1,000,000 units of Novolog are for. Apidra is better but it's not made in country, so VA can't carry it.

The French are very insular with their food, which is pretty bland and repetitive in nature. They are just now accepting the Old El Paso brand of M-A foodstuffs in their stores as if this were representative of actual Mexican food. Other examples are legion. Do not have the French make a pizza as their conception of it is something derived from the stone age. The best pizza I have had was made by a Sicilian and it still does not compare to the best I've eaten in America. For pies, Cherry, Strawberry-Rhubarb and Sweet Potato are my favorites in that order.
