Sorry I did not respond quickly enough.Having decided not to leave (it wouldn't do for Blackjack to get mugged or worse on the way back to the ship with a wad of cash) Raven shepherds her companions back to the bar and buys them a round, pays for a second and leaves a tip. She tells them to take their time which she checks out Blackjack's situation. Then she turns and heads into the casino to keep an eye on Blackjack and place a few bets herself (small ones on the same numbers Blackjack is playing). Raven enters the casino and notes the crowd around the roulette table. She walks over to the window and exchanges credits for chips. There is a chart on the wall displaying what the various chips are worth. OOC: How much does she exchange for chips? The crowd cheers loudly as she nears the roulette table and she sees the croupier pushing a large pile of chips over to Blackjack who already has several sizable stacks of chips in front of him. A quick calculation in Raven's head indicates that there must be a couple hundred thousand credits in those stacks! She also notes that there are several large men in dark suits on the out skirts of the crowd and a pair of well dressed men standing behind the croupier. The croupier calls, "Place your bets ladies and gentlemen!" Blackjack places bets, mostly on the lines between numbers, not really large bets. It looks like several people in the crowd are doing the same, following Blackjack's lead. OOC: Raven get about 100 CR in chips and follows Blackjack's lead placing three 5 CR bets. She very casually checks out the well dressed men behind the croupier and try to get a feel for whether Blackjack is getting himself in trouble, since even though he is making small bets, he is still making a killing and it would not do to be beaten and robbed by the casino itself. That would queer the deal on everything. She makes good use of her smile and even teeth and cultivates a softer look that she normally would. That should make an impression on Blackjack and make him think since that is out of her normal character.

OOC: Ah! And I didn't realize that play was proceeding further here. Will go and adjust my recent post.
Peng tells Raven with a shrug: "Sorry, boss. But Blackjack is feeling lucky and won't leave the roulette table."
When Raven responds by - surprisingly - proceeding to join Blackjack in the game, an increasingly bemused Peng follows along. Not a betting man himself (as he knows perfectly well that the odds are always stacked in favor of the house), Peng hangs back a rank or so from the table, splitting his time between checking out all the female flesh on display and watching for possible threats. Picking up on Raven's subtle interest in a particular well-dressed gentleman, Peng attempts to move casually in that direction, while sliding his hand toward the coverall slit-pocket which allows access to his Blade . . .

Raven doesn't win or lose much and Peng observes that there are 5 large men with bulges under their coats spread out around the casino floor.
After only a few minutes, a pair of men in suits step up to the table. One says, "I'm sorry ladies and gentlemen, but I'm afraid this wheel has to be taken offline for service. There are other games available for you and everyone will receive a free dinner on the house for your troubles."
Blackjack sits back and chuckles, "If you'd left this wheel up I'd have owned this casino before the night was over. I think it's time I stop for tonight, though. Maybe I'll try you again tomorrow."
The second of the men takes a plastic bag from his pocket and begins to put Blackjack's winnings into it, "I'll escort you to the cashiers office where we will convert your winnings. If you'll follow me this way, please?"
Blackjack stands and says, "Sure, but I'll carry the bag, if you don't mind."
Taking the bag Blackjack removes several chips from it and hands them to the croupier and various waitresses as he strolls toward cashier's window.

Blackjack and his escort stop at the cashier's window and then the party proceeds down the corridor next to it.
Raven and Peng are in the room with Blackjack and both see him disappearing down that corridor. Are either of you going to go with him?

Peng glances at Raven with a questioning look . . .
Should I follow?
Peng gives Raven a couple of seconds to choose between nodding or shaking her head . . .

If "she" hesitates - conceivably in-character given her rather looonnnggg previous orders - Peng will take the plung and follow. One problem I have with forum games rather than email games is I don't have the player's email addresses. This is a quick process and allows her to be next to the corridor down which Blackjack, his escorts, and then Peng disappear.

Peng waits a couple of seconds before turning into the corridor behind Blackjack and his three escorts. He has a ceramic blade in a scabbard inside his jacket, it wasn't noticed when the group came in, and he didn't turn it in.
Moving quietly, he sees Blackjack and his trio of escorts stop at a closed door on the left side of the corridor. One of the men with Blackjack puts his palm on a pad next to the door and Peng hears an audible "Pop - hiss" as an air tight hatch unseals and pressure normalizes between the corridor and the room behind the door. The Suit with Blackjack pulls the door open and motions for Blackjack to enter ahead of him.
As Peng sees this one of the Goons with Blackjack puts his hand to one ear and whirls back toward him. His hand moves quickly to the inside of his jacket and he growls, "Who are you and what are you doing back here?"

If Blackjack does NOT seem fearful or apprehensive, Peng will continue with his charade and back out of the corridor, then go for reinforcements.]

Blackjack does NOT seem fearful or apprehensive. He walks right in smiling. Peng follows through on his charade and - assuming the goon believes it and gives him directions to the restroom - backs out of the door and joins the others. He reports what he saw, then adds: "'Course, ol' BJ could be smiling cause he's coverin' actually being scared s**tless. The crew waits nervously for a few minutes then they see Blackjack, still escorted by three men...2 body guard looking chaps with bulges under their arms and an older man who looks somewhat grim.
"Hey folks!" Blackjack waves at the group around the table, "You all ready to head back to the ship?"
The gray haired man shakes Blackjack's hand and says, "I hope you give us a chance to win some of our money back one of these days."
Blackjack grins and says, "You never know, I might win the rest of your dough the next time I come through."
As the group walks to the door Blackjack leans over to Raven and whispers, "There won't be any trouble in here, but it's a 2 kilometer walk back to the main dome and it's dark out there. Did anyone check weapons at the front desk of this place?"

Then he mutters - mostly to himself yet loud enough that anyone standing close can probably hear it - a pithy little: "Why don't you ask your friend to send some of his goons with us?"

The group stops at the inner air lock. (anyone "check" any coats, hats, respirators/filters or weapons?) You'll need your air filter/respirator masks for the low oxygen environment outside, so you *all* had them. If you don't remember if you "checked" a firearm at the door, and frankly it's been so long that I've forgotten too, I'll let you say you did, just remember to retrieve it before leaving the casino. Once the group is out of the airlock in the cold night air. Blackjack gets on his comm to the ship and raises Gilroy. While Blackjack is on the comm Thazar and Baltus each double checks his auto pistol and Cyril cycles a shell into his sawed off shotgun. "Gilroy, I just want to let you know we're on our way back to the ship. I'm afraid we might have some trouble on the way. Just wanted to let you know, just in case." says Blackjack. After finishing his chat with the ship Blackjack says, "I've got a bundle in this case, close to 2 million credits. Somebody is likely to try to try for it, so keep your eyes open."
"Yeah, I figured as much boss." says Thazar, "I wish I had something thicker on than this jacket for protection, too."

[OOC: I don't THINK Peng checked any weapons at the door, so he just has his Blade. Further - to be Devil's Advocate - I vaguely remember a long in-character exposition from some security folks (prior to the group setting out from the ship) to the effect that our destination did not allow weapons other than blades, so Peng probably left his guns behind. I can't speak to what the other characters did, however.][OOC Corrected: I was wrong . . . As the group mills about waiting for stragglers, Peng shrugs to make sure that the shoulder rig with it's heavy revolver has settled in well over his shipsuit, then softly taps one ankle with the other, making sure his hideout piece is also secure. I really hope it doesn't get violent. But I'm not counting on it. . . . and therefore:] As he collects and dons his filter mask and assorted weaponry, Peng looks around at all the ironmongery getting handed out and decides that he's going to stay in the middle of the group, so far as this proves possible. OOC: If the game mechanics will accommodate it, I'd like for the first shell in Cyril's shotgun to be an illuminating round that will shed a bright but heatless light for about 10 seconds. As I imagine it, it's not an incendiary; it will hit with the impact of a hard punch but not do other damage except maybe inducing panic. Fired upward, it will illuminate an area about 150 feet radius with enough light to detect an unconcealed human, ruin everyone's night vision, disable night vision devices in use. Dark-adapted eyes will be useless for the first 5 seconds. If the group has been using a light, their eyes won't be dark-adapted. If I'm being too cute for the game, I'll apologize, plead inexperience and say, "Never mind."
Oscar puts on jacket and mask, asks the group for a buddy check on the breathing gear and loads his shotgun. (He feels that bringing a loaded gun inside is extremely rude.)
