Today begins the 43rd days since the board was first created. The whole first two weeks was spent creating forums and forum categories, with the help of the first 6 members including myself. It was on the 15th day that we gained our 7th member and started our initial invites. So in some respects I suppose I could claim that the forum is only 28 days old. We have today 52 members, 121 threads and 1036 posts as of this moment! Looking good! Thanks to everyone helping build this place! Regards, Halenar

Congrats! all the hard work definitely paid off.
I think this forum is a excellent way to keep from muddying up odd74 with endless house rules posts, and a great venue for learning about others' games!

BTW, I happened along when there were 999 posts and I must admit I did get a kick out of making the 1000th post.

I'm just sorry I didn't get to make post number 666. Oh no! Perhaps the 80s scare had some sinister truth to it! What is to happen to us all now!

Likely the novelty of it all wears off after a while. Fun fact for you FIN, the most users online at the same moment at your site was: and for Dragonsfoot it was: So I wanna be like you Fin! Would you have guessed that? Doesn't surprise me OD&D rocks!

Today is about noon on the 81st day of the forum:
We have 69 members We have 188 threads We have 1812 posts We average 22 posts per day and that has held steady in the 22-24 posts per day range since we opened the forum to everyone.
52 members have posted at least once and of the remaining 17 lurkers I recognize at least 10-12 who post on our sister site and I expect to they will be posting here sooner or later. Currently 75% are posting and that is awesome!
Before the end of the day (EDT) we added member number 70, I don't know why but that feels like milestone to me!
70 189 1,825
53 posters and 17 lurkers

I checked the count and today is the 90 day of this forum and that includes all of the build time. So where are we at the beginning of the 90th day? 90 Days 70 Members 225 Threads 2128 Posts as of this moment So how does that compare to other forums. There is only one other forum that has any data saved and that is in some threads over at OD&D Discussion - Fin's forum and our brother forum. Well at 77 days OD&D Discussion had this: 77 Days 78 Members 170 Threads 2226 Posts The next way point at OD&D Discussion was 132 Days: 132 Days 91 Members 202 Threads 2791 Posts So what does this mean, if anything? Well here is my take on it, OD&D Discussion is a niche of a niche and we are a niche of a niche of a niche and so our member numbers so far while lagging are close enough that I am quite happy with things on that front. In terms of threads we have more threads at 90 days with fewer members than OD&D discussion had at 132 days (at 140 days they were up to 220 threads) and I think that bodes well for our future. Our total posts like the membership numbers does lag behind too; however, again we are a niche of their niche. At day 356 OD&D Discussion was at 253 Members and at day 370 OD&D Discussion was at 265 Members. So here is my take on it. Assuming that we are still active at the one year mark which will be January 12th, 2016 if we could be at 100 or more members, I would be ecstatic. Some of you may say that is only 30 more members in the next 9 months, and I would say if we are bigger that will be fantastic, but in my opinion I believe that many people are coming here and reading but not joining until they are sure that we are in it for the long haul. Anyone who has any suggestions about increasing the membership please feel free to share it and of course anyone that does invite people to check us out is way cool in my book. Oh also we are averaging over the first 90 days 23.6 posts per day, which I am very happy with.

Wow! I wonder what is holding us back from gaining a lot more members? I don't know, if you figure it out let me know. I am pretty happy with where we are and while I would be even happier with three times the members and posts, I am not complaining about where we are. But Hey, feel free to share the link with others.

Hmm, averaging over 10 posts a thread.
Appears the numbers are baring out the healthy discussion around here!

More importantly, we have quite a few posters with 10+ posts. That seems to indicate that we're spreading out the conversation, instead of having 2-3 people dominate the chatter.
On the OD&D Discussion boards I have the settings such that playing PBP games doesn't advance one's post count, just so I can seperate discussion versus play.
