I wouldn't obsess about lack of weaponry software. 1) you are a merchant not a warship 2) potential hostiles will assume you have the requisite software 3) you have to have some goals, I can't hand everything on a silver platter Yep. Right on.

I say let's get ready to make planet fall....if we don't get the anti-hijack we can always post guards outside the bridge and engineering.

Rim Runner is a nicer name than Rum Runner
Regardless, my vote is for Valentine or Zyphyr.
Ultimately it's the ship captain's decision.

Hum, well the Bronson Han and the San Halo PC's are the ones with the ship shares, so I guess one of them should be Captain of the ship. Captain San Halo has the rank, so I vote for him to have that job. I'm fine with Bronson being the junior partner.

Okay, San is captain - but his player will need lots of guidance as he has never played Traveller before!
Could we settle on Rim Runner as a compromise?

Although, he has never admitted it, Firefly/Serenity had to have been based on Traveller. For literary analogs, the Tubb's Dumarest of Terra series; Anderson's Flandry, Falkayn, and Van Rijn stories; Norton's Solar Queen books; and Niven's Tales of Known Space are all good ways to get "a feel" for Traveller. Sword and Blaster style swashbuckling adventures across the stars is how I'd describe it.

I pictured firefly, and Asimov's foundation books.
Also Vance's Magnus Ridolfson stories, Demon Princes books, Araminta Station, Moon Moth, and other Sci-fi

I am open to equipment suggestion as well, especially as I do not have a copy of the rules! I would be happy, makofan, if you just assumed whatever would count as standard and affordable for my character at this point.

Hutch is in awe, he's never flown anything less than triple-bunked before! He'll check out the ship's locker to see if there's a shotgun there; if so he'll scratch his name into the stock.

Could we get a complete key to the numbers on the deckplans?
Okay, we have 6 crew to accommodate.
There are 4 cabins for crew on the lower deck and 6 for passengers on the upper deck. With the subsidy we're working with, I'd say we keep the number of passengers low, never exceeding six so we always keep them off the lower deck.
I'd go so far as to say we use cabins 29 and 30 (upper deck next to the lift) for 2 of the crew. That way each crewman gets his own cabin. It gives us 2 crewmen on passenger deck to keep an eye on any passengers as well. Now, that limits passengers to 4, but I'm okay with that.

Hutch is happy to bunk in the air/raft if it's in a pressurised spot. Where he will quietly scratch his name into the stock of "his" new shotgun.
After completing the work, Hutch checks his service record data and is happy to see that he has, indeed, spelled his name correctly.

Just purchase weapons and ammo, the ship's locker should have most of what you need otherwise
Gregoire also purchased a Medical Kit, Med Scanner, and some Tranq Spray for CR 2200
