Here are the assumptions I need to have everybody agree to in order to generate a fun game
1) All of the data in the Murkhill subsector forum is considered available to the player characters; consider it to be an atlas or library data. However, the GM may change any or all of it as he needs. I cannot play Frank's planets the way he designed them, for example, as I am not Frank, but I can use his skeleton as a basis for my ideas
2) I will be using 1981 LBBs as a basis, because that is what I own. I am using ffilz's amazing documentation for errata and clarity. That being said, the rules are a skeleton, and a tool for the game, but we may diverge from them.
3) Characters can be generated using Book 1 or Supplement 4 Citizens of the Imperium. I would suggest that new players use Book 1 characters. I will probably get experienced players to roll their own characters
4) It is important that the players start the game already together. We'll figure out why after character generation. If people can not play together, I can split a couple of different adventure threads off. Characters can come from any planet.
5) I will be doing the dice rolling; it speeds up play greatly. Think less of mechanics and more of actions and options. I will adjudicate
6) 5000 CR annually is what the masses live on. 10000 CR annually is comfortable living. Since a High Passage is 10000 CR you can see that the only way to travel between stars for most people is the risky Low Passage at 1000 CR

Fantastic, just let me know what I need to be doing. As I noted in the other thread, I obtained a copy of CT-TTB-The_Traveller_Book and it is listed as copyright 1982 so I am assuming that it is essentially the 1981 LBBs.

Yes, I have that copy and it is an excellent version of the rules. It is basically lightly-edited 1981 rules

Agreed. How are we rolling up scouts, er, characters?
What, there are other kinds?

Vile, since rolling up characters is so fun, I am going to use the honor system. Feel free to roll up a bunch of characters on your own, then post two of them that you like. I will start a thread for posted characters

Cool, I haven't rolled up a bunch of CT characters in ages! I might be gone a while.

I have been reading the rules and looking at the examples and am starting now to see what I can do with them.
