So I'm sure most here are familiar with Greyhawk and the barony of Blackmoor. When I first started gaming in Greyhawk I knew little of the real Blackmoor. Later as I learned more of the history of our hobby and discovered Blackmoor I decided to play the Blackmoor from the FFC in my version of Greyhawk. There is also this article which I'm sure most are familiar with here which shows Blackmoors location in an early map where Greyhawk city was zenopusarchives.blogspot.com/2012/08/the-weird-enclave-of-blackmoor.htmlI've located it further west. I added it as an attachment. Where would you put Blackmoor if you were to place it in Greyhawk? Attachments:Greyhawk_BM_Location.pdf (516.89 KB)

Theory? It's fictional and was arbitrarily placed by Dave, then Gary, to begin with. Stick with as closest to Dave's interpretation as possible, methinks. The WoG folio conception changed things a lot from the old C&C map, so whatever looks best to you.

SOMEWHERE in my boxes of gaming stuff is an ancient copy of a map of the Great Kingdom of the C&C with both Greyhawk and Blackmoor marked on it.
And the Duchy of Lessnard.

Actually I've thought about using the great kingdom map as a basis if I ever restarted my Greyhawk campaign again. I never used Greyhawk as written anyway I just used what I liked and changed what I wanted to. It was my Frakenstein Greyhawk. I like the idea of the central flaness as a base and Dave's Blackmoor just a little bit north of that.

I considered redrawing the Great Kingdom map & fuse Blackmoor into it but I figured that I'd have to change too much canon to do so & I might as well create my own setting instead. In my thoughts concerning creating a fused setting I'd use the FFC to interpret Blackmoor in the 80' GH Folio/83 BH box Set based setting with the Duchy of Ten being a separate realm than the Duchy of Tenh. If I were to use the Zeitgeist version of Blackmoor I'd fuse it into Faerun instead.
I am still debating on if I want to do the fused setting or just revise my own setting instead. I love Blackmoor, Greyhawk, Faerun & the Known world. I may do both as I can run a game in Flanaess/Blackmoor until I work out the Faerun+Known World fused setting & revise my setting on the side.

IMC, Blackmoor once lived where Bentonville and Bella Vista, Arkansas stands now. My Champions/V&V/Superworld players once followed Earthworm (a super vigilante my wife played) down Civil War Cave nearby into the "depths of the Earth" and uncovered SOME of the 1st Fantasy Campaign stuff and accidentally activated a blue exoskeleton set of armor.
As far as I'm concerned, that's where Blackmoor is located.

On a similar note, the actual regional area map we used visa-ve the Outdoor Survival board configurations and system is being slowly redrawn by me (in between my non-fiction book writing) while noting all of the PC and NPC locations and names, all of the original matter which was for the most part not included in the WoG release. I just received a very LARGE order from BBP and Jon, there,, of mapping papers, hexes and grids of various sizes. It's going to be very large, 24 x 17 square grids, for each OSM map boadr. I will also describe the original system that Gary and I devised for using it as a continuous map.
