I stumbled upon The Monument Mythos on YouTube. It's a freaky little analog horror series that is best described using the short blurb from the fan wiki which states the series takes place "in an alternate universe, bizarre and unexplainable events occur near national landmarks like The State of Liberty and Mount Rushmore.". It's weird and intriguing to me. If you're interested, the season one teaser is linked below. Most of the episodes are around 5 minutes in length, with the longest being a bit over 18.

I watched the trailer for the 2024 version of THE CROW earlier today. I didn't read the original comic book until after I watched the original film adaptation. I enjoyed that movie quite a bit. I distinctly remember all of the buzz around the release because of the death of Brandon Lee. I went to see it opening night while I was stationed at Ft. Campbell, KY. Several of us went to the theater to buy tickets for the 4:45 pm showing to find out it was on every screen - 6 at this place - and all showings until 11 pm were already sold out. We bought tickets and came back at 11 to watch the film. I thought it was a great film and that Brandon Lee would have been a big action movie star if he would not have had an untimely death. Of course, there have been several sequels and even a TV show since then. All of them have been of lower quality while some have been downright awful. I was looking forward to this remake to see what they did. I watched it and I wasn't impressed. Yes, The Crow is about action and revenge BUT it's also a love story. This version looks too John Wick to me to properly catch the vibe of the original comic. Maybe it will but I will find out through a rental or some other means because I'm not going to the movie theatre for this crap.

My son enjoyed the Arthur and the Invisibles trilogy of films as a young boy so when I saw the trailer for Arthur Malediction I knew I had to watch it. Hey, it's on tubi!

I'm planning on watch the entire trilogy because I never have watched them close together. I'm beginning with CUBE.

I finished watching CUBE so I'm moving on to CUBE 2: HYPERCUBE now. I just found out there are four movies; not sure if the fourth one is a fourth entry or a remake, but tubi has all of them.

CUBE 2 was better than the original in some respects, but not as good in others. The CGI effects were too goofy looking in my opinion. On to CUBE ZERO now.

I found out that CUBE (2021) is a Japanese remake of the original film. I decided to skip it rather than read subtitles. Now, I am watching Infinity Chamber that came out close to the time of the original Cube so maybe one of them inspired the other?

I'm halfway through The Vampire Next Door and it's pretty fun so far. It's sort of like Fright Night but a little more serious and sinister. I hope it holds up until the end.

My son wanted to watch Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire so we did last night. It was a very entertaining movie with lots of good monster battles. It might be the best out of the new run of the Godzilla movies. Check it out!

I decided to browse through tubi and saw that The Batman is now available so I started watching it just a few moments ago. It's hard to beat free, so if you're interested in watching it here's a heads up.

I've never seen The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension, but I've been aware of it for many years. The first time I recall hearing about it was from my uncle David. He seemed to enjoy it and would reference it from time to time; this was way back in the 1980s so I don't remember any details. Since then, I've had people recommend it to me several times. I've also noticed that people have used quotes from the movie as part of their signature on forums. I had always intended on watching the movie, but I never did for one reason or another. The movie recently came up during a discussion here on this forum and it was recommended again as well. I searched and found it was freely available for viewing on tubi, the roku channel, and a few others. I devoted some time to watch Buckaroo Banzai to see what it has to offer the viewer.
I finished watching the movie and I have determined one thing for certain; it just didn't work for me. I'm sure that some people reading this are going to be surprised but it really felt "off" the entire time I was watching it. I got the impression that it was trying too hard to be quirky and strange. The original Twin Peaks nailed that because it kept me coming back for more once I had the entire show on DVD. I did a marathon viewing from start to finish with only breaks for sleeping and eating in between. It took me splitting Buckaroo Banzai up into three nights of viewing to complete. I didn't enjoy the sillier aspects, either. A good example is the difference between Evil Dead II and Army of Darkness. Both movies have some silly stuff in them, but Army of Darkness just went crazy with it, resulting in Army of Darkness being my least favorite of the Evil Dead movies; the Ash vs. Evil Dead series ranks above it with me as well. There's nothing wrong with silly or parody movies. Some of them I do truly enjoy like Kentucky Fried Movie, Scary Movie, Sharknado, Naked Gun, etc. There it is in a nutshell. I'm not attacking anyone for enjoying this movie but it certainly didn't work for me. That's all I'm saying.

I haven't seen Buckaroo Banzai since it came out, and I barely remember it. I also had a comic book adaptation for a while, but that's long gone.
I hear you; sometimes the silliness just doesn't work for me. And I agree, if I understood you right, that Ash vs. Evil Dead was surprisingly high-quality. Haven't seen AoD in a long time, so I'm not sure which is on top for me. I did like the first two Evil Dead movies, for sure.

Just finished part two of Rebel Moon...meh
Critics compare it to Star Wars but other than the word "Rebel" and some characters having "glowy swords" I just don't see it.

My wife and I just finished watching the first season of Fallout. I grew up a die hard fan of the first two games, was pretty meh about 3 and 4 and loved NV. So far I'd have to say they done a fair enough job. The series is more in line with the feel of Fallout 2, NV, and the better parts of 3 and 4. The Ghoul as a character has been tremendous so far.

Playing Fallout 1 currently. What a fun vintage and clunky game from the 1990's lol. The series was great! Walton Goggins was a great choice to play The Ghoul. Loved him ever since seeing him in Sons of Anarchy and Justified.

I found Inferno by Dario Argento on FAWESOME Horror so I'm watching it now. I've seen Suspiria (original and remake) and I believe this is a sequel or a second movie in the same universe so I decided to give it a shot. Pretty good so far.
