Peng glances back toward the Mystery Duo, then answers: "Depends on when they got here, I suppose. Were they already here before we spotted them?"

"I'm not going back to ask. Let's head for the bank." Gil nods, "Yeah, let's go to the bank. I'll feel better with this cash deposited. After that, keeping a low profile before we head back to the starport might be the best idea." "How do y'all feel about staying the night, or should we skedaddle back to the ship this afternoon?" Gil adds as he looks at his comm, "I think I can get our return tickets changed from tomorrow to tonight." There is no trouble on the way to the bank. It doesn't appear you are being followed and none of the locals pay much attention to you. OOC: Who goes inside the bank with Gilroy? Inside the bank the transaction takes place quickly and the teller asks Gil if he would like any money put into an I-Card. OOC: I am stealing this idea from someone, but I can't remember who. An I-Card is sort of like a pre-loaded cash card, except it contains actual pellets of an iridium compound. It is recognized at all starports (through D and most E class) inside the Imperium and almost all starports within 50 parsecs of any Imperial border (C or better and some D class). Most businesses inside the Imperium can make use of I-Cards, but outside you will often need to visit a Currency Exchange service (or Bank) to get local currency.
The card can hold up to 100 pellets. Each pellet weighs 2 grams and is worth 20cr, 50cr, or 100cr in ImCr, so up to 10,000cr could be loaded onto a single card. You use biometrics (or a PIN) to activate the card and dispense or load the pellets when you are buying or selling items (or doing currency exchanges).
A I-Card is actually a small box about the size of a credit card, but roughly 2cm thick. Empty, the card weighs 26 grams (1oz) and full 226 grams (~8oz). There are actual coins and plastic bills in use throughout the Imperium, as well as credit/debit cards, but the I-Card is very convenient for Travellers and most people regularly traveling will have one, or more, I-Cards with them.

OOC: Who goes inside the bank with Gilroy? Takheal and Tokheletoi follow him inside, and step to a place where they are out of the way, but can still see.

Cyril is uneasy. He stays outside the bank's front door, trying to be unnoticeable while looking for more suspicious characters. He's not very good at either.

Cyril notes several passers by that look at him a bit strangely...but that could just be because he appears nervous himself. In any case, they all pass him by and nothing much happens while he is waiting. In just a few minutes Gilroy and the two Aslan emerge from the bank and walk over to him. "Glad that's finished." says Gil, "Now what? Back to the ship or find a bar?"

Gil deals with the teller for a couple of minutes and then rejoins Takheal and Tokheletoi, "Okay, done! I put some of on my I-Card for travelling expenses and the rest in my account." "Let's go join the others."

Feeling like he needs a drum major's baton, Cyril starts the parade to the cafe.

Peng passed the time while Gil went into the bank hanging out at the entrance with Cyril.
When dinner seems to be the group decision, Peng rubs his stomach, nods and falls in with the parade.

The only things of interest while the crew walks along the street are the side glances...and occasional open looks...at the pair of Aslan walking with you. No one talks to you or approaches you, but they do give your group a wide berth as you go past.
The cafe, called Mako's, is on the street behind your hotel. You had passed in by walking through an alley when you were walking to the church. There are large glass windows on 3 sides of the block long cafe: the walking alley, the fronting street, and the side street at the end of the block.
There is a counter where a few locals are eating, a number of booths around the corner of the entrance and quite a few tables scattered around the "L" shaped dining area. There aren't many occupied tables or booths, it seems it is a little here for dinner.
When you enter a heavy set man in a white shirt and apron standing behind the counter says, "Welcome to Mako's sit where ever you want and order when you're ready."

Charlie takes the seat beside them and looks for something interesting to try off the menu. Takheal waits until Tokheletoi sits, and then he settles down beside her, carefully adjusting his tail between his back and the chair. "What would you like to try?" He asks her in Trokh. "Anything with meat in it," she replies with a purring chuckle. Takheal's answering chuckle rumbles from his chest, and he smiles at Charlie, carefully not showing his teeth. "We find the shipboard cuisine lacks meat," he explains. "This is a good time to remedy that, if possible."

Peng slides the proffered menu back toward the heavyset fellow and says, "Your biggest cut of real red meat - just slightly warmed - a side of whatever deep-fried local veg there is and a bottle of beer will do me jus' fine. Th' 'meat and potatoes' th' Sail's food printer spits out ain't all that convincin', ya know."

Cyril imagines Peng breakfasting on a donut filled with Chinese mustard. It's probably only a pleasant fantasy.

Seriously, I'd be very glad to switch the food printer over to making motor oil or counterfeit money or something. We'd need to convert one cargo container to food storage, and I'd need to spend more time buying food. What do you think our new owners would say?

“Show a cow the fire, briefly, and then hack off a slab of sirloin. Add a salad with a spicy dressing and a baked potato with everything you think might be appropriate. And a beer. Something good, not the usually tourist stuff.”

Your orders are taken and shortly afterwards you are enjoying slabs of barely cooked beef, various sorts of potatoes, a bit of salad here and there and mugs of a good dark ale from a pair of large pitchers set on either end of the table.

Then if Cyril's any good, we can set up as a diner at primitive ports and let locals bring their money *to* us."
