((This all still occurs in exploration round 2, fyi. Not huge amounts of discussion, so not worthy of 'an action' in a 10 minute turn in my ruling))

Let us continue to follow these tracks, eastward, as we had discussed and decided before our elf joined our party.

. for utilitie's sake would you mind flipping the map in an editing program so that north is up, not south? It would just help to clarify things a bit.

((Due to my prior confusion with the map needing to be flipped, I need to correct that the tracks lead WEST and not EAST. This will be the LAST time this happens.)) Following the tracks, the party begins down the westward corridor. The only sounds this way are the now-fading thump-thump of the waterfalls behind you towards the entrance, and the stink of urine begins to die down as well. The passage continues to be dressed in flagstones. After 30' of corridor, you reach a large, square room, that seems bereft of all decoration or furnishing. It's flagstoned as well, however, and the ceiling of the room rises to 15'. You notice 2 exits now, both in the center of each wall. One leads onwards further west, the other, south. The passage-way exits are arched stone like the ones in the first room. ((I'll need to know where Todd's Elf is now, in the party marching order))

Sorten in attempt to be humorous says "you know why elves have pointed ears........Well there has to be some point to elves" failing to notice others probably aren't laughing....laughs strongly seemingly pleased with his "clever" joke

Acanthopis is chuckles loudly, then points to the westward tracks, and beckons the party to move west.
The elf can take the place of any redshirt in the marching order, or any unoccupied place.

Yes, Halstaff agrees, let us keep up Westward movement until something makes us decide otherwise.

Draca follows. He will take up the rearguard if no one else is assigned that responsibility. He uses his Elven vision to scan behind.

"I don't much care, as long as there's a torch for me to see by; I don't much fancy scurrying around in the dark like a blind rat." Acanthopis grunts.

((OOC: Draca is wearing chain armor so he's not particularly stealthy at the moment.)) Remember he's probably wearing other stuff under the mail if only to fight chaffing. That will mute some of the noise. Perhaps you can mute it further with a stout cloak later. For now, I'd only lightly penalize your stealth. I'm one of those that does imagine it's possible to sneak around in metal armor. Possible, not easy, and your call entirely.

As you all gather and proceed moving westward, into that passage beyond you, Draca notices some strange seams along some of the flagstones in the northwestern portion of the wall to your right. There appears to be some wearing (that is quite old) along those seams as well, and the seams themselves form a roughly box-ish shape about 4x8 in that wall. The tracks do NOT lead that direction. MECHANICS
Party begins to move it's full 6" to the western-most passage entrance of the new room.
Draca passive search roll at end of full movement of 6": 6 on d6, successful passive notice.
End exploration turn 2, begin turn 3.
3 full turns of torchlight remain.((Please pardon the crappy thumbnail image. My image hoster is flooded with activity right now and I can't load better.))

Draca stops and quietly calls the others' attention to the wall seams. He traces a finger along an edge of the seams, looking for any hint of springs, hinges, or other mechanics.

Sorten also assists in the search. Looking for any scrap marks or sign that this possible secret door has been used recently.

"Hold your torches high and close," Halstaff commands the red-shirts. Halstaff draws his sword and keeps and eye on the entrances to the chamber, backing away for better eyes to discern the possibly hidden door.

((Ok, that's 3 players. I'll move this forward.)) "Hold your torches high and close," Halstaff commands the red-shirts. Halstaff draws his sword and keeps and eye on the entrances to the chamber, backing away for better eyes to discern the possibly hidden door. Redshirts move at Halstaff's orders. Torchbearer moves to his side, lifting high the light, as the other two move to a particular passage to keep watch (west and east). Theodoric moves to watch the south exit. Draca stops and quietly calls the others' attention to the wall seams. He traces a finger along an edge of the seams, looking for any hint of springs, hinges, or other mechanics. Sorten also assists in the search. Looking for any scrap marks or sign that this possible secret door has been used recently. As Draca traces the seams, Sorten moves in to discern the nature of any scrapes. Sorten notes that there ARE in fact scrapes, but they are terribly old. In his opinion, this 'door' hasn't been used in ages. Draca's nimble fingers finally fall on a flagstone that appears to be moveable. He pulls, twists, turns, and finally the flagstone recedes into the wall... And then the secret door opens inwards, revealing a VERY dusty passage. Dozens of common underground insects spill forth from the passage, excitedly escaping along walls and cracks in the floor in an instant of frenzy. That passage is not of dressed flagstone like the rest of the place is; Rather, it's of smooth stucco that is tastefully decorated with frescoes of pleasant village life. Passage is 20' long, by 10x10. The torchlight spills into what appears to be a small opening or room beyond that 20'. At the extremity of the torchlight are some tantalizing sparkles inside the room or whatever it is, along the western edge of same. Even the air here smells quite different; None of the wetness can be smelled in the air from the outer waterfalls here, and it definitely smells stale. All is quiet. Actions, Gentlemen?

Upon learning what the crafty gentlemen (and fay folk) have discovered for us, Halstaff enthusiastically recommends careful exploration of the new found space. Ten foot pole, checking ceilings, floor, walls. All that good dungeoneering stuff!

As Draca unfortunately left his ten-foot pole elsewhere, he will stand aside for an able-bodied pole-bearer to proceed into the newly exposed passage. ((OOC: merctime, how many spells do I get for my spellbook? ))

Sorten will wait for someone with a pole or other device to check the passage. Sorted is suspicious as stucco can be an easy way to conceal traps.

Acanthopis asks that the party look for ways of opening the door from the inside.
Perhaps we could shut the door on half the party and have them search, while still keeping half the party ready to open the door from the outside if need be.

Draca examines the inside of the door to determine if it can be opened from within.
