I have several different game systems I could use to represent statistical information about the Toldara campaign; I narrowed down the poll options to systems most appropriate for this board. Just out of curiosity, what system would YOU prefer I use to present this information?
Feel free reed to explain your reasons and/or make other suggestions like "dual-stat it" or whatever comes to mind...
Note: I have been assimilated by the Borg persuaded to give Delving Deeper a chance by the voice of its' fans here. I can dig it so I'm going to do just that. Give me a few days to make it to Office Depot to get it printed out in proper LBB fashion so I can start reading the rules. I like what I've seen so far and I will present the rules portion my campaign in accordance with the DD system. In the meantime, I will only present system neutral information. The poll has also been locked.

I would pick B/X since I have played a little of it.

Of the three, my vote's B/X by a long shot. ...But I'm quietly whispering 'Delving Deeper' in a hypnotic sort-of way the whole time I'm in the ballot-booth

I was figuring that B/X would win out of those three systems. Just out of curiosity, merctime, fill me in on Delving Deeper. What makes it pop for you? What makes it stand out from other simulacrum games? I've been interested but I just haven't gotten around to checking it out.

Three major things, brother. 1. Its the closest, legally, simulacrum of the three little brown books that I'm aware of, d6 hit dice and damage and all, with only truly minor additions and few of those to be sure (such as a +1 to damage for strength 15+, halfling accuracy being ruled as +3 to hit with missiles instead of not really being initially codified, and using a non-increasing d6 resolution mechanic for the thief skills instead of percentage dice). 2. The immediately recognizable and total lack of any current styles of system resolution, like ascending AC, feats and/or skills/proficiencies/non-weapon proficiencies, or challenge rating stuff. You can pry my descending AC from my cold, dead, hands 3. Perhaps my favorite of all, and kind of tough to explain: The inclusion, both systematically and perhaps implied in a role-playing context, of the Chainmail "Normal/Hero/Super-Hero" tiers. I just love this, once I understood it. For me, other than BLUEHOLME, itself a Holmes simulacrum, there is no other clone. I can't recommend Delving Deeper enough, unless someone absolutely must have variable damage. I encourage trying the d6 damage and hit dice way for any who haven't, also. At first, it sounds unrealistic and not fun... but in actual play provides waaaay more tension than variable damage and hit dice in combat in my experience. It really levels the field. Makes people play cautiously when that kobold with a club can end it all. And dragons don't get one-shoted by fighters with a Halberd, double weapon proficiency, percentile strength, and a critical hit with damage vs large. I've left that nonsense behind and I'm never going back to it!

Glad to hear your enjoying it, brother! Found a decently informative post over at Finn's board, in the Delving Deeper section: odd74.proboards.com/post/124011/threadTrying to find more I know of, but this sorta things is hard from my phone! Hehe. Good places to check: OD&D Proboards Delving Deeper section. Immersive Ink forums. Delving Deeper's G+. If you've got G+, just search the games name. Fight On!

I like S&W's single saving-throw.
Microlite 20 is so CUTE! But it is too 3.5 for me.
I like Full Metal Plate Mail. I think I find the lay-out more user-friendly even than DD. But its legality is at least debatable.
Why not 0e? I mean, just sayin'.

I am not opposed to Delving Deeper and I agree with merctime when it comes to descending AC. I don't know why, but ascending AC and feats just grates on my ear like chalk screeching on a blackboard.

Why not 0e? I mean, just sayin'. I just don't own a copy of 0e, that's all. This is precisely the reason why Delving Deeper exists! You can also browse it freely online here. I've found it can be handy to be able to link right the rules online in a play-by-post game. Enjoy

Of those who have voted so far and for those who have yet to vote, shall we consider a vote for B/X in the poll above to be a vote for Delving Deeper?
I say Aye! What say you?

Given the choice, I would immediately change my vote from B/X to Delving Deeper.
I do love B/X though, but no longer play it.

Agreed if the game wasn't going to use Delving Deeper my next vote would be B/X also.

Just had a convo with waysoftheearth and restudied the two rule-sets. In the end I agree with others here that DD is superior, in the end, to FMPM. Let the record be ammended!
