Is this an activation of a toy holding the sword or does this transform an adult into a 10 year old boy. I could see someone picking up a wooden toy that has a sword and activating the toy to increase in size to that of a 10 year old and it would defend the person who activated it for up to an hour or to when its hit points are gone at which time it reverts to a toy.

8) Clear Thought, This great sword is very tricky to use. On mental command, this +3 sword's intelligence and ego take command of you, freeing you from any form of mental assault. The sword will act out this battle that is currently going on and more or less functions as the owner desires. It will retain command of you for d4 weeks. Use with caution.

5> The Joker> +3a/+3d Long Sword> 3xdaily you can tell a joke that heals d6 to everything that can hear and speaks the same language, this causes the listener to become incapacitated for 2 round(unable to do anything) That is pretty sweet, the caveat is that it has to be a really bad joke and it has to be told badly too! And the listeners can only smile and laugh, instead of groan, boo and hiss.

9.) Sword of Ruarc - a Holy Sword +5/+5, it can only be wielded by a Paladin of 8th level or higher. It drains two levels every time it hits and boosts the Paladins level (and hit points) by a like amount for the next combat turn. When it strikes any undead or regenerating creature it also adds 1d10 fire damage the round it hits and for each of the next three rounds. For a 20' radius it also prevents creatures such as vampires from changing shape, from turning to mist and from fleeing.

Ok we are going to go in a dif direction stating w 10. I am calling for a Storm Bringer . I would every one to post their idea of Storm Bringer, as many as we can get. So far, I got nuthin' Hengest's BlizzardbladeThis +2 masterwork sword came with the people out of the north many scores of years ago. As long as anyone can remember, it has been borne by the heir to the kingship. Its power in combat is popularly attributed to the office that the heir holds, not to the blade itself. But its other powers are well-known. When the blade is wielded in true combat (not for training), an area of cold air, ever more stirred by winds, appears around the sword. Those it slays fall to the ground, already unrecognizable husks. For each foe that falls to the blade, the area of cold wind grows larger, more terribly freezing, more snowy, and more violent. By its sixth victim, the blizzard is in full force as far as the eye can see, extending even to the clouds in the sky. Further victims bring about gale-force and even hurricane-force winds, incapacitating and blinding most on the field of battle, even the wielder of the sword. It is unknown what effects would follow should the sword continue to take victims beyond this point. Some ten minutes after the last slaying, the storm begins slowly to die down, reversing its growth until it becomes nothing but a patch of cool air around the sword, and then nothing. This can take much of a day. Use of the sword in a major battle can have lasting effects on local trees and crops. Some fifty years ago, one wielder could not be found in the blizzard and died of his injuries and the cold. His ice-blue body was found in the ruins of an orchard on a spring day.

Right, I like that. I also like how it prefers to be used offensively because of ppssible damage and death that it would deal on its own territory.

OK, a Storm Bringer sword. Hmmm, given that I love Paladins, how about a sword of this type geared towards Paladins.
There is a legendary sword of the Paladins of which it is said to seek out the one in each generation who is worthy to wield it. This sword is known as The Sword of The Noble Bear. The first Paladin to wield the sword was named Bern which means bear, and this sword did not start out as a magic sword, though by all accounts it was an exquisite forging ordered by a grateful king. This Paladin through his many mighty deeds become known by the name Noble Bear, partly because of his real name Bern, partly because of his size, appearance and fabled strength and partly because of his noble deeds and incorruptible heart.
At some point during the career of this Paladin who grew in power and deeds throughout his career, there begin to be stories that talked about his sword and the waxing of its power, ever stronger as it was wielded in the cause of Justice and the defense of the weak. But the sword also become known for Mercy, because even in the heat of battle it would not strike an innocent, passing through such a one without harm to strike one of Evil. It was said that after the Paladin Noble Bear was struck down in his 80s (Paladins never retire) as he defended a small town against a hoard of orcs that The Sword of The Noble Bear fought on by itself and slew them and that the ground then opened up and swallowed them.
Since that time The Sword of The Noble Bear disappears when its wielder dies, but appears to a worthy wielder when (and if) one arises. It is said that as long as its wielder is breathing nothing can withstand its power. And the story told is that Paladins fight until their hearts give out. The Sword of The Noble Bear is said to have many powers and that over the centuries it has only grown more powerful and that it always points its Paladin toward his next battle. It is said to grant its Paladin 8 hours of solid rest and restoration anytime he can sleep at least one hour and that as it kills each evil creature it absorbs their strength, power and life energy and can hold this energy up to 100 creatures to bolster its Paladin as he sustains wounds, but it banishes their souls to the depths. The excess power beyond what it can absorb and hold for need is expended through fire and lightning against its enemies. It is also surging with power and eagerness to destroy evil and yet it enhances the Paladins abilities to lay on hands to heal injury and illness. It is said to have halted plagues, cured grievous wounds and cured those who were poisoned, to purify water sources that have been befouled and to cleanse polluted land. It is also said that any Paladin wielding it can only die a natural death of old age regardless of the wounds he takes.
It has the power to slice through the toughest and hardest metals and protects its wielder from magic and the nullification of magic. It is said to have cut other less powerful swords in half, extinguishing their power. Paladins wielding The Sword of The Noble Bear are said to have killed as many as 300 foes with its blade in a single battle and to have routed armies unassisted through fire and lightning. It is said to have many other powers of which only its wielder knows.
How much is truth and how much is legend, no one knows, but that The Sword of The Noble Bear is truly powerful is beyond dispute, if indeed it exists.
