The are made flawed to make them easier to enchant, They are not actually cursed even though you might think so.The enchantment will fade after 3 years and it will only function for one month a year(must be continuous). With thee restrictios in place the sword cost 1/5 the cost of enchanting a +1 sword. As warriors of the kingdom are often gifted them for good service, they are very commonly found in the hands of adventurers.
