For the record (not that I think anyone is keeping track), I'm changing my handle on here to hengest. I was zondervan until recently. Have confirmed with Admin Pete that this is okay. And that's all.

Inspector Hengest. From one of the original Star Trek episodes, I believe, "A Wolf in Fold"?

See, here-- en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wolf_in_the_FoldOne of the most bizarre episodes; along with 'The Trouble with Tribbles' wherein, Dr. McCoy coins the phrase (at least, at the time, it was the first time I'd heard it) bi-sexual! He was referring to the tribbles' ability to procreate without mating as they contained both sets of sexual reproductive organs.

Nice catch, robkuntz , but I didn't intend any reference to Star Trek! I only meant the Anglo-Saxon figure. EDIT: Thanks for the link, captaincrumbcake. I see the Trek writers (or the Wikipedia editors) spell it the "other" way. I don't think I've ever seen this one.

I believe you mean "asexual" reproduction, as from a single biological entity...

Well, I assume that's what the writers meant. But, of course, D. was just speaking the lines he was given.

I believe you mean "asexual" reproduction, as from a single biological entity... Perhaps, but... Asexual reproduction (such as budding, vegetative propagation, parthenogenesis, and other kinds) need not involve sex organs of any kind, or it can involve only a single type of sex cell/organ. Simultaneous hermaphrodites are organisms that possess both male and female sex organs in one individual. Sexual reproduction by self fertilization can occur in these.

In either case it would not be bi-sexual for the denotation but as either you or I have noted.

Actually I'd rather give the gander and be done with the Crumb Cake jokes... As it stands Oakesspalding, we have an ample supply of chocolate dipped dwarf beards, courtesy of some general Crumb Cake, or someone.... Oh Yes: WELCOME TO CATAC!! (it's code...)
