Longtime lurker decided to come join the party. Happy to be here and I don't know why I took so long to join. Also just to let everyone know, I have started a review of all three Complete Warlock books down in the subforum titled The California Connection. Feel free to ask questions and I will try to answer them.

I've been a lurking member for quite some time, but you have lured me out of the shadows. Things are about to get interesting.

Another lurker coming out into the sun to see what's going on. Been a member for a while and decided that maybe, just maybe, it would be a good thing if I contributed too.

Just to let you know, I am not nearly as old as I look. (yeah that is the movie Gawaine) I'm a miner(sic), but a reasonably polite one.

Here we go, Encyclopaedia Britannica There's a cool book written by JRR Tolkien called 'Finn and Hengest'. In it, he analyses the content of a fragmentary Anglo-Saxon poem where a warband of Frisians assaults a Danish fort. Jutes are (possibly) fighting on both sides. There's also a reference to this battle and summary thereof in Beowulf. Tolkien analyses both and brings them together. In modern German, stallion is "Hengst", in the Scandinavian languages, "hest". The English word comes from Old Norman French, the modern French being 'étalon'.

I have a very long wish list.
