Raven nods to Takheal, "Everything seems to be Green, so lets land and check this place out.""Aye, Ma'am." Takheal pilots the ship as directed by the local traffic control, and settles the ship onto the designated landing pad. He goes through the shutdown routine, and announces "Done with engines" over the intercom to Engineering.

Just as the engines whine down to a stop and Peng starts to relax from his [for him] high state of readiness, he gets the text from Raven and sends back . . .
[Text Message]Aye, Aye, Cap. Live long and prosper![/Text Message]
Clamboring out of his turret, Peng slouches toward the bridge . . .
[Internal Thought]Wonder if she'll get the reference? It's rather obscure, after all. You have to be a hardcore fan of Old Terra flatvids.[/Internal Thought]
. . . arriving moments later, where he waits patiently until Raven makes eye contact then says laconically, "Ma'am." as he offers a casual two-finger salute.
OOC: Please note that it is a TWO finger salute and of the Polish Army/Cub Scout variety, NOT the English variety!

OOC: Raven reviews the planet data and reminds everyone to wear their filter masks when they go out and to pay strict attention to the clothing mores.
Raven queries the computer records to see if there is any info at all about the other continents and the rest of the world. She wonders if this pollen problem is the whole world or just this area.
She also sends a message to Peng to see her before he leaves the ship, she feels the need to caution him about offending the locals.
Raven also sends a note to Dr. Vargas to inquire if a simple test can be done to check what level of sensitivity each of the crew has to the pollen. Just wondering if any of us would be able to function with the filter mask in an emergency.
Does the no skin include the face? Are we wearing hats, scarves, goggles and filter mask indoor and out? There is little information about the other two of the three continents. All are almost completely unexplored, although the one with the settlements is more explored than the others. The one that is settled is in the temperate and sub tropical zones of the northern hemisphere. About the other two: Raven does determine that one is straddles the equator and is pretty hot year round with lots of tropical and jungle growth and that the other is far south and covers the southern pole up to about 40 degrees latitude covered with ice and snow, tundra and evergreen forests. There are warnings about several large and dangerous animals on all three continents. The seas are equally dangerous with "sea monsters" reported to be found in the deep oceans. "I'll get right on that!" says Doctor Vargas. Vargas calls each crew member into the sick bay for a simple test. It turns out that all the humans are allergic to the pollen and will need the filter masks, but the pollen has no effect on the Aslan members of the crew. The "no skin" taboo does not include hands or face. You won't need to cover those parts of your body. Legs, arms from wrist up, feet and torso, however, do need to be covered for both men and women. There is no specific information on how non-humans need to dress to fall within the local laws.

"Aye, Ma'am." Takheal pilots the ship as directed by the local traffic control, and settles the ship onto the designated landing pad. He goes through the shutdown routine, and announces "Done with engines" over the intercom to Engineering. “Well done,” Charlie said as he started the post landing checklist. Charlie Takheal takes the messages from the local ground control: 1. welcoming the ship and letting the ship know that there is a 2000cr per week dockage/utility charge (minimum 1 week) to be paid in advance and asking how the fee will be paid; 2. a reminder about the need for filter masks to be worn outside, to pass through air locks when entering or exiting the ship, and to keep the ship under positive air pressure so the pollen won't get inside; 3. that a local cargo broker requests a meeting with you to discuss any cargo you might want to sell and where you are going from here as there are some goods that are awaiting shipment; 4. a passenger broker whats to know the same things because there are folks seeking passage to other systems; 5. an advertisement from a local inn where rooms, board and beer are available here on Starport property; and 6. an invitation from a local church where you can "discover the way to happiness and eternal joy." Charlie communicates with ground control, also getting the message about the hook up to local utilities and the need for a "tie down" for the ship due to diurnal high winds that take place at local dawn and dust. The winds are strong enough to rock and occasionally move starships, athough, they have never been known to flip one...better safe than sorry. Charlie then goes through the ship's check down procedures communicating with Engineering to make sure the ship systems are shut down and internal utilities are ready to be connected to shore power and other utilities. The locals want to do the tie downs and make the connections within the hour as the are only a couple of hours before "second wind" begins, but they are waiting for (1) payment and (2) being asked to do the tie-downs and make the hook ups.

Gil busies himself with preparing for landing and surreptitiously checks to see that his "delivery" is still safe and sound. [this is where Gil needs to make his delivery]. Musing to himself, "I wonder what it might cost to get Peng on board as a backup?" and determines he needs to get to know Peng a bit better. He's already picked up on Peng being a similar soul in terms of side business but he doesn't know Peng quite well enough to approach him directly. He'll try to find a subtle way to engage with Peng to determine interest and whether or not he's trustworthy for this little venture.

Without looking up from this task, Peng says, "So, Gil. Got anything interestin' planned for this planetfall? Thought I might nose around the startown for a suitable side job, myself."

Charlie Blackjack comms to the whole ship, "I'm going over to the Port Office to pay them their fees, Raven and Tok how about coming along with me? "
"Charlie, how about you and Emiya going outside make sure the utility connections are done right and nothing is taken from the ship or sneaked aboard by the local workers." "Oh and Cyril and Tak, I want you to find us a Chandlery on the Port property and arrange to swap out our Life Support Modules and buy food and such for the next leg of our journey. Take Doctor Vargas with you so he can restock his medical supplies." "Peng and Gil, I want you two to check out transport to the mainland and see if you can find a boarding house over there for all of us. I'm giving everyone a couple days of leave here, but I want us all together for safety sake. Oh, and if we're going to the mainland find out what we need to do to keep our comms working and connected to each other over there!" "Remember, we've only got about an hour before those strong winds are expected to blow in. Don't get caught outside, and wear your filter masks! "I'll be at the main hatch waiting for all of you...Blackjack out!" OOC: I think I gave all the PC's something to do. If whoever you are paired with doesn't post they'll just be coming along as silent partners until they check in and post.

Peng answers, "Aye, aye, BJ."
Rising to his feet, Peng sheaths his Blade and tucks away his whetstone. Glancing at Gil, he nods and says, "Meet you at the hatch."
As he turns away, Peng grumbles to himself in a low voice: "Goin' to the mainland. Right. Why're we doin' that, I wonder? Ain't they enough bars and whores 'round the starport?"
Peng goes by his stateroom and attires himself appropriately for braving the exterior conditions, before heading to the main hatch.

He'll keep an eye on the time as well, though he's sure the locals will be scurrying for cover long before he's at risk.

OOC: Cyril has a tablet/comm/smartphone (as does everyone really) that connects to the ship's computer, which is connected to the Port's computer, which is connected to this world's version of the internet. He should be able to find listings for chandlers with a simple search. Smaller ports like this might only have one or two that handle everything.

"Aye, aye sir!" Gil responds and prepares himself to fulfill his obligations both to the Clear Sails and his little side delivery. Still musing over how to approach Peng as a potential "partner" for this little venture...
[Eris, I'm still around but I'm not off of my Bataan Death March yet. If I don't respond in a timely fashion, please continue to move the game forward. Gil will attempt to enlist Peng as backup and to make the delivery as quietly and discreetly as possible. He prefers to talk his way out of a situation rather than come to actual blows but if that's called for he won't hesitate. If this little side deal works out with Peng and Peng doesn't rat him out to Raven or Blackjack, he will continue to partner with Peng on future side deals.]

I didn't forget that Ping approached Gil about "side jobs", but if Gil replied, I missed that.
Okay, out of the ship you go, all wearing filter masks. The sky is currently clear, but you know the locals are expecting a very strong wind to hit in about an hour.
There are a line of buildings to the right of the ship, including the Port Authority building, several warehouses, and a string of small one and two story stores down a couple of streets. There is a jeep with a couple of locals parked next to the ship.
"Hey!" one of them calls out, "We're here to connect your ship to local utilities. Who's in charge?"
