OOC: Since per the DM it is morning, let us all eat and care for the livestock and decide who stays up top to guard the holding and who is going down below.Gwindeth over breakfast says, "We have decided that Grimbane and Grimdeath will stay up top while Togork and I will go with the party into the cellar." Looking around she says, " How about the rest of you, who goes, who stays?" Yoren speaks, " Loren and Toren will stay up top to guard the lodge and the livestock, while Zoren and I will go into the cellars to find out what is down there."

You notice few animals active in the area, which is abnormal. Those you do see from a distance seem not quite right, possibly diseased or corrupted. They stay away from the walls of the lodge, but several ravens seem to active in the clearing, you get the uncanny idea they are keeping a watch upon you.

Grimbane and Grimdeath hold a quick meeting with the others who may be better equipped for strategy and tactics, but suggest that, "Since there are eight of us we should rotate active watches an hour at a time so that we stay fresh and watchful. As we have four pairs we suggest one on and on off from each pair. Grimbane will go first and then Grimdeath will go second and the same for the rest of you. What do you think, will this help keep us at the ready?"

Loren says, "I like the idea of an hour on watch and a hour off during the day. Four on and four off, that will help to keep us alert, so let us do that."

OOC: Right now PD and I are waiting for raikenclw to post and then for Hexenritter Verlag to chime in for Chet once we respond to raikenclw. At least that is where I think we are in this thread.

[Mulvigg Human Cleric]* and [Mulvigg Human Fighter]* of course do not realize it, but their noticeable discomfort at the implied suggestion that they should split up perfectly mirrors that of their compatriots belowground. After exchanging a wordless glance, [Mulvigg Human Fighter] clears his throat and says:
"Switching off hourly is acceptable during full daylight. But once dusk arrives, we suggest all be alert, as this is when Evil tends to strike. If we remain until full night, half should rest for a watch* then the other half for a watch*. All should once again be alert as dawn approaches, for that is the OTHER time when Evil tends to strike. At least, in our experience."
*watch = 4-hour span, as clocked by rotation of the constellations in the sky.
[OOC: Once again, I apologize. As explained in the other new thread, I was unaware that these new threads had opened.]

Karga mutters to Hunter & Axel " Hopefully the Halflings, elfin folk & holy men will be ready to head to the pile of ruins to the North. They concur, with Axel saying, "Maybe I can checkout more on the goo from those fell beast if we get a chance to cross their path".

The two human Mulviggians take their stations and wait patiently for something dangerous to occur . . . The two elves carefully examine the full perimeter of the wall looking for weak spots or for any features conferring an advantage to the defender.

The roof of the Stable & lodge have a cat walk that connects to the others lining other sections of wall. The top of the wall has three feet above the walks to give minimal cover unless you are hunched down. There is plenty of distance between the treeline & wall to help defenders see threats approaching the walls. The Lodge & stables are the most defense-able areas of the lodge.

The elves are not that tall and quite flexible so being concealed behind the top of the wall is not difficult.

Grimbane and Grimdeath watch carefully during there turns, but sleep well during their off-turns. They think any attack during the day is the worry, it will be the night when things happen and they want to be ready.
