Once the low passengers are frozen the ship is ready to leave for the next stop...Shira Lea. There is some information about Shira Lea in the library for you to look at. The first of the Delgado Trading people will leave the ship at Shira Lea along with a cargo module. The local Traffic Control slots you for a lift into orbit and give you a flight plan out to the 100 diameter limit. OOC: Who has the pilot's, navigator's, and sensor/communications's chairs on the bridge? Who, beside's Blackjack, is in Engineering? Where is everyone else when the ship gets ready to lift?

Charlie is in the navigator's seat, already working on systems familiarization and plotting out a preliminary set of jump calculations. Charlie

"I can either man one of the turrets, or take the second pilot's position," Takheal offers.

Tokheletoi double checks the low berths and then spends her time walking through the ship to familiarize herself with their stores, cargo and supplies. Takheal crosses her path on his way to the bridge. "Greetings, Administrator," he says with a brief bow and lowered ears, signifying respect. "I hear that your negotiations for passengers was successful."

Tokheletoi returns the bow to exactly the same depth. "Greetings Warrior, indeed the Trade was good. I was able to find eight humans wishing Low Passage on immediate terms. We will at least fly more fully laden and profitable for this leg of our journey. Will you man our weapons or aid in the flight of the ship?"

"The captain has not assigned me a station. I expect he will, since there are three or four watches per day, even when we are in jump space. For now, I am planning to man one of the turrets, where I can exercise with the gunnery systems." He lifts his ears, signifying a polite question. "Once my watch is over, perhaps we can have a meal with our new crew mates?"

I can already see that my skills can be of service to the ship in the procurement of cargoes, passengers and negotiations for supplies and services." She waved her tail. "Yes, ideally we can gather with the crew and speak of their plans over a meal. That would be appreciated."

Having completed his pre-flight checklist, Gil monitors the screens and sensors in his turret for any suspicious activity. Thinking to himself, "hmm, I should likely check with Blackjack or Raven to see if Takheal wants to familiarize himself with the weapons systems." Grinning, he thinks "Peng is not likely to move out of his 'ready room' so Takheal will probably wind up spelling me for a shift. However, I should re-secure the cargo elsewhere to avoid any misunderstandings." Gil will carefully retrieve the package and find another safe place for it before looking for Blackjack, Raven, and Takheal.

Raven takes here usual position as the pilot and makes the usual chatter with Traffic Control.

Once the Jump is initiated and underway, then Takheal may join Gil.

Takheal selects the checklists on one of his side monitors. "Preflight checklist. Engineering panel..." He calls out each item on the list, and waits for Raven (or Charlie) to confirm each of them as they move through the listed items. When they are done, he nods. "Preflight checklist complete." He calls up the next checklist. "Departure checklist queued up when you're ready to lift." The Aslan takes a moment to reconfigure his flight station to his own preferences, including, Raven notes, setting the flight displays for manual flight, with the autopilot cues set as secondary displays, and the forward sensors' output on his center display.

Tokheletoi double checks the low berths and then spends her time walking through the ship to familiarize herself with their stores, cargo and supplies. Tokhel meets ship Medic Dr. Vargas as he is finishing up the system checks on the frozen passengers, and then Cyril the ship's Steward as he is preparing dinner for passengers and crew. Wandering down to the cargo hold, Tokhel sees that the entire cargo bay is filled with big modules all marked "Delgado Trading". There is a man down there also checking the modules. "Hello." he says then introduces himself as, "Sir Baltus my name. I'll be leaving the ship on Shiralea to set up a trading post for Delgado and wanted to make sure my Module was still okay down here."

Tokheletoi greets Dr. Vargas. "How are the remaining system checks coming? Is there any updates or maintenance we should do before we take the next group of low passengers Doctor? It would severely impact our margins if anyone were to die as well as being quite shameful and morally repugnant."
When she reaches the cargo hold she bows slightly in the human mode. "It is a pleasure to meet you Sir Baltus. My partner Takheal and I have become part owners in the ship. I have a good deal of trading experience and will be serving as broker and factor for the ship. I am glad to see that your cargo appears to be well secured. It has always been my practice to check the cargo myself as part of preflight assurances." She looked about and then back to the human. "I apologize for my curiosity but are you establishing a trading outpost on Shiralea?"

"It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance Sir Baltus. Is the 'Sir' appellation related to status in your society?" She was truly curious as to the human grading of their society. Humans were so inscrutable both with their open ways and the oddities of their fluid gender roles. "My people can manage well within your Standard environmental parameters. We can subsist well on your foodstuffs although as you can imagine we are far more comfortable with fresh meats and proteins given our backgrounds as carnivores rather than omnivores." She flipped her tail. "It is the compatibility of interests in biospheres and worlds that often leads to conflicts between our peoples."

"Our medical supplies are adequate, for now." Dr Vargas says, "I restocked the Autodoc after Mr. Miller (Blackjack) finished his treatment. The low berths are working properly and I do not anticipate the loss of any of our passengers." "The recent gun fights that the crew has engaged in are a danger we need to discourage, though. I can't guarantee the successful treatment of everyone if they keep getting perforated with bullets." Vargas says with a slight smile letting Tokheletoi know he is making a joking comment. "It is a pleasure to make the acquaintance of you and your partner. I have no experience with your Specie in the past." the doctor says, "I downloaded a series of library articles about Aslan medical conditions and procedures. I hope they aren't needed, but will study them just in case. If you and Takheal will provide me with your medical records and allow me to conduct a general check up once we are in Jump Space that will help me considerably."
