Decked out in his [Spiderman] footie pajamas, Peng shuffles bleerily into the common room, headed in a more-or-less straight line for the commercial-sized refrigerator. Just as he opens the appliance, Peng's nap-fogged brain finally registers that one of the folk who rode with him in the ATV a bit earlier is sharpening a high-end set of blades at one of the tables. "Nice blades," he comments, rummaging toward the back of the shelf . . . [Internal Thought]I know there's some "Earth's Preferred" still in here somewhere . . . Ah![/Internal Thought] Turning with a beer bottle in either hand, Peng motions as if to lob one underhand toward Emiya. [OOC: Accepting the beer is not essential to engaging Peng in conversation. He will be perfectly content to keep - and drink - both beverages. As to Peng's attire, the "[Spiderman]" inclusion above is meant as a stand-in for an equivalent in-universe entity, e.g. a wise-cracking fictional hero from current Imperial pop-culture with a fanbase that encompasses adolescents as well as adults. Peng is quite secure in his quirkiness, so disparaging comments upon his attire are not going to spark a conflict.] [Additional OOC: Copied and pasted here, from this game's OOG thread . . . "Thanks...", says Emiya as she pauses in her task, lays down her sword & tools & signals she is willing to have a drink. Peng nods silent acknowledgement and finishes tossing her the beer. "Peng, right? I think someone referred to you as such." "Yep." Peng answers laconically, then takes another swig. "My name is Emiya, though my old crew often called me Ebonblade ... because this blade." Nodding at the aforementioned impressive length of ironmongery, Peng comments, "I'm thinkin' that there is what folk would call a 'conversation piece.' I'm bettin' there's ah interestin' story attached tu'it."Taking a seat at a table across from Emiya - so as not to mess with her blade work - Peng settles back and quirks an eyebrow at the newcomer, showing every expectation of a forthcoming yarn. [Internal Thought]True or not, this oughta be entertainin'.[/Internal Thought]

[Internal Thought]True or not, this oughta be entertainin'.[/Internal Thought] Emiya opens the beer like a soldier & takes a good swig of it before setting it down. "You could say that, it was a bride gift from my betrothed to me on our wedding night on my 15th summer. It has earned me my freedom and saved my life and those of my old crew when the need was dire. I trust it more than any man, no disrespect - I occasionally am at times underestimated for my size and gender, much to their chagrin." Emiya is 5'4" and looks slender of build under black BDUs. Her sleeves are rolled up mid arm showing toned muscles under red-mocha skin, there are some scars that ring her wrists in a simple pattern; plus a few scars looking like defensive wounds caused by blades on her hands and lower arms. "Once you've earned my trust & I yours I might tell the tale of how I came to be here. Anything else you want to know Peng? BTW you did well taking care of Blackjack in the gun fight. At least you didn't lose your manhood & run away or void your guts. I can respect that. Though I didn't catch much as I preoccupied - you & Captain Raven honored your ancestors and comrades. It makes me feel more comfortable joining the crew if Captain & Blackjack will have me that is.Emilya takes another swig of beer before picking up her sword and continue to sharpen out burs and other minor imperfections along the black blade as she & Peng converse.

"Time will tell. That said, I do not mind roughness, I actually prefer things rough - I was raised on a rough planet & spent time in the Imperial Army so roughness is part of the job. Firing a cannon is a good skill to have & dangerous, as they can pop like a zit and void its crew into the void in space or into the sky to paint the ground red - if not vaporized in the explosion that is. Not everyone is cut out for ground pounding like Infantry warriors like me. I prefer to use my blades up close and personal [the last two words are growled - or seem to be], my shotgun is my back up to get me close to my targets. Emiya grins wider showing teeth like a Cheshire cat, she seems to be enjoying the banter with Peng.

While that meeting is taking place she will meet with Charlie and then with Emiya. After that she will meet with Thazar. Takheal, the grey pelted and black maned Aslan male, greets Raven with a bow, and introduces himself and Tokheletoi, his partner. As the tour progresses, he follows along a step behind the ladies. He says nothing, but he seems to take more interest in the bridge and the weapons installations, than in other parts of the ship. When they return to the cargo bay and approach Thazar, the stocky Aslan stands next to his partner and waits for her to speak.

Emiya looks up at the newcomers, sets her sword down and greets them, "My name is Emiya Ebonblade, what are your names? It looks like you are joining the crew too. i still have to finalize things with Captain Raven and or Blackjack. Blades are the common weapon among my tribe on my home world, I feel far more comfortable with them, though I should learn to use other weapons in case the need arrives. While I was in the Imperial Army I only learned to shoot the shotgun, it is great for close & mid range but poor for longer distance threats."
Emiya takes a swig of her bear...then pauses as her stomach growls loud enough to others to hear. She gets a embarrassed look on her face but it quickly passes. "I think I better eat something, Peng could I something to eat? I had planned to get something to eat before the ambush earlier but after battle high and nerves about potentially joining the crew I forgot how hungry I was. I'll pay since I am not a member and not sure how things work as a crew member and provisions and other things. If not, I might have some rations in my gear."

"I've only got this. It's served pretty well, but I'm not like E over there. This is strictly a last ditch weapon. I like killin' enemies from a distance, the longer the better." Takheal stiffens fractionally, but he quickly squashes his instinctive reaction to the human's movements. Instead, he nods appreciatively with another of his tight-lipped smiles. "That is a fine blade. Perhaps, if my partner's negotiations go well, I may trouble you to tell more about it later." Emiya looks up at the newcomers, sets her sword down and greets them, "My name is Emiya Ebonblade, what are your names? "I am honored to meet another warrior, Emiya Ebonblade." The bulky alien's speech is oddly inflected to human ears, but he is quite understandable. "My name is Takheal, which means "Long Rifle".

Peng says agreeably to Takheal, "That's a deal."
[Internal Thought]Not a whole lot to tell. Ain't hardly had to use it, for reals. Ah, well. Guess I can make somethin' up . . .[/Internal Thought]
When Emiya mentions food, Peng puts down his almost-empty bottle and heads over to the food processor, commenting over his shoulder as he goes, "No worries, E. Or you other two folk, either. We aren't so poor that we can't spot fellow spacers a meal or three, even if they don't sign on."
[Internal Thought]Is E sure she's hungry? 'Cause it sounds like she's having trouble digesting that dictionary she swallowed, given all the words she keeps burping up . . .[/Internal Thought]
Over the next couple of minutes, Peng is busy punching codes into the processor and distributing the results around the room [although this need not slow down the ongoing conversation].
