I just wanted to swing by and thank everyone for all the support you've shown so far.
We are now live with our Kick Starter.
Most funding pitches have to do primarily with "Give Me All your Money," yet our approach is different. We are very aware that a lot of gamers may be on fixed incomes and can't really do much as far as direct support like that. Our goal is to get our fans sharing our Kick Starter link and talking to other gamer, thus raising awareness of this film project.
We're really far along with the film. We need extra hands and eyes on the project to make it come to completion sooner.
Tell your friends about this project, maybe show them the trailer on your phone at game night. It is the human touch that will help this project along. individual fans talking to their gamer friends.
All we ask is that you pass it forward.
We're really underdogs and outsiders in the world of gaming. We aren't connected to the big game companies and big names in gaming. And the movie is really about people who are outsiders. We're pretty humble about what we can accomplish via this film, and we know that we need help from all of you.
Thanks, Griff

I'll help spread the word, not much more I can do, but that I will do.

Off to a good start, 33% in three days is pretty good. If they can hit 250% and up, they should be able to get it done expeditiously.

All we ask is that people talk to their friends about this. We will do the rest. We're going to be dropping something cool on the KS page on friday -- make sure to check back then.

Off to a good start, 33% in three days is pretty good. If they can hit 250% and up, they should be able to get it done expeditiously. We are always a bit conservative in our expectations. Our core fan base has done their job. Yet, the amount of pledges is dropping off now. What other forums should we post our link to? If we can reach 1000%, we are pretty sure we will be able to reverse time, and have the movie done last year.

If I had $15,500 I would have jumped all over the 9th level, 10th level and 20th level items the moment I saw it. I really hope someone can swing those, I would hate for any of those to go unclaimed.
I was also quite impressed that you all have put $150,000 of your own money into this already.

Our core fan base has done their job. Yet, the amount of pledges is dropping off now. This is quite common with Kickstarters: an initial surge, then a lull, and (hopefully) another surge towards the end of the run.
Keep the pressure on, interest up, and don't coast.

Thank you all.
We're having to work hard to convince people we aren't "those other film makers who took my money" and that we have a movie nearly finished.
Thus we broke down and dropped the 35 minute GaryCon Draft on youtube.
A lot of people told us to be ready for the mid stage crash. But we don't do things like that. We've decided to stop sharing all our hidden artifacts with everyone, and now only share them with Backers.
You have to go click and read the update, as this site forces the embedded link and cuts off the update part of the link.
Huzzah!

Odd your link displays, works fine and updates for me, logged in as the Admin, I have no idea why it does not display properly for everyone. Here is the Kickstarter link as a regular link Kickstarter for Secrets of Blackmoor.

I don't know, but for me I tried three broswers (Firefox, Opera and Chrome) and they all display correctly for me both logged in and not logged in. I see you are up to 71% so looking good.

I made a final post about Tonisborg where I reveal what I call the Deep Lore that appears in Tonisborg. We've made our goal, but we're hoping to push harder on this. Gary Gygax fans really hammered the Gary movie, which is good, as I support all D&D movie efforts. Now it's time for the Blackmoor and Twin Cities fans to keep pushing the message out there. /posts/2367293

Hey people check out the link at the bottom of secretsofblackmoor's most recent post. Man if you can come up with $161.00 that would be a really cool thing. Man I wish I could do that. Well I have shared my blog post with something like 12,000 to 15,000 people a dozen times. Shame there are not 10 times as many people backing this. But at least there is a shot at hitting $50K.

Thanks for the comment. The 3 Crowns is an interesting detail in Tonisborg. Increment has several early drafts of D&D, it will be interesting to find out how early on the crowns appear in the text. We're working the KS project. We are doing what we can to get the word out. Our Gary Con Screener is almost to 2500 views. If only each one of those people were to donate $5.00 And to those of you who keep sharing our links, it is greatly appreciated as we just can't do it without the help of everyone else. Film making is a difficult art. Even finding an audience that wants to see your film can be truly a challenge. Chris and I often talk about how there are likely another 20 movies of the caliber of Citizen Kane, but no one has ever seen them; they are in a box in someone's basement. If you haven't shown this to a friend yet, please take a minute to do so: Griff

BTW a few days ago I backed this at the $161 level, it is really more than I should have, but I got a little help with it. I miss out on so many things because of not having money, but I did not want to miss out on this.

Thanks everyone for helping promote the movie. Clearly it helped, or we would not have gotten such good results. It was a month of a lot of work for us. We've been laying low as we wait for KS to release the funds to us. Those of you who did support us will be receiving an email from our Backer kit. It allows you to refine any gifts you wanted. i.e. Pick shirt color and size. You can also up your pledge if you had second thoughts about higher gift levels. Anyone who did not get in on the Kick starter, we also have a store for all the gifts here: secrets-of-blackmoor.backerkit.com/hosted_preordersThanks again! We're very excited about being able to move forward with finishing this first volume of Secrets of Blackmoor. Griff
