There is a large hole where the air lock used to be and several bodies are on the floor near it. There is gun fire coming from his right in the gambling hall. He can see smoke bellowing out from the gambling hall down the corridor toward him. Takheal moves quickly toward the remains of the airlock, and peeks outside to see what is going on. The hotel was two blocks away, and his partner had gone to a store next to it to buy who knows what.

OOC: Charles and Takheal are both starting to feel the effects of the smoke and atmospheric taint. They are going to have to pull their filter mask up pretty soon or they're going to be in trouble. OOG: Takheal has his mask on.

Charles rolled over, his brain rattled as he looked to see what he landed on. When the alien rushed out, Charles fitted his mask and went for the man from the ship. He might be his ride out and he wanted to make sure he didn't lose him. "You all right?" he asked Gil. "I don't know what's going on but we should get out of here." Charles Charles picks up a cell phone from where he landed on it. Charles assumes it was Gil’s and handed it to the man when he was obviously searching for it. Charles

OOC: Looks like I managed to turn on the notifications! No more missed posts! Charles fitted his filter mask and stuck to the man's side. Charles OOC: Good! I was going to suggest that to you. IG: You both see Takheal paused at the door to the bar. Gil is to Charles' left and a step ahead of him. Gil has what looks like a stun gun in his hand. Charles notices movement to his right and sees the barman coming up from behind the bar holding a sawed off shotgun! He appears to be taking aim at Takheal. OOC: Charles and Takheal are both starting to feel the effects of the smoke and atmospheric taint. They are going to have to pull their filter mask up pretty soon or they're going to be in trouble. OOC: Charles has already slid his mask in place. Charles has no idea why the man would want to shoot the alien, but he wasn’t going to let him do it. “Lookout!” Charles yelled as he grabbed a chair up and chunked it at the barman. He suspected all it would do was distract the man, but time was time. Charles

Gil shouts, "Takheal, get down!"
OOC: If the bartender continues to raise his shotgun while aiming at Takheal, Gil will stun him. However, he will look in the direction the bartender is looking to see if there is another target he might be aiming at.

OOC: Need to modify thisLooking out the ruined air lock Takheal sees the dusty open kilometer and a half between Leroy's and the Main Dome. There is no sign of an attack on the Main Dome, just here, and as his companion is in the Main Dome shopping she should be safe. Takheal sees an enclosed ATV sticking out from the side of this smaller dome he is in. It is to his right almost around the curve of the dome. He sees no movement out here for a second, then notices a slight motion to his left and ducks back just as bullets pockmark the airlock wall where his head had been a moment before. Behind him, Takheal hears more gunshots, shouts and screams. They appear to be coming from much deeper inside the dome. Back where all the gaming tables are located.

The man looks stunned for the moment and has dropped his weapon. He's not "out of it" though.

Takheal hears the shouts from Gil and Charles telling him to look out just after the bullets wham into the air lock wall. They are behind him and inside the bar so they couldn't have seen the shooter who is outside the dome.
This is the current layout. I hope the mud-map comes through okay.
dining hall ^ +------+ | +--------- | -------| airlock Takheal -------| | barroom +------+ | +------------+ | v | | | | +----+ | Gil b | | Charles a| man| | r
In reality the barman wouldn't have a shot at Takheal, but he was moving to where he would. Why, you don't know? Maybe a mistake...

Takheal backs out of the airlock, and turns to survey the dining area, moving to the corner of the dining room wall and the airlock wall. He spares a thought for his weapon, but that is not something he can fix.

If he sees the gunmen will return fire but will otherwise wait to see whether the "action" comes to him.

Turn 2
1 +-----+ +--------------------+ ~ /2 ~ | | | dining hall | | | +------+ +------------------+ | T | -------| + airlock \ Gaming Room -------| / | + | G | +------+ +-------------------+ | C | | | | +----+ | b | | a| man| | r
Takheal backs out of the airlock, and turns to survey the dining area, moving to the corner of the dining room wall and the airlock wall. He spares a thought for his weapon, but that is not something he can fix. Takheal sees a several people on the floor. They all are alive, Takheal thinks, but appear to be hiding behind turned over tables and chairs. There is a figure dressed in dark colors from head to toe and who's face is covered by a filter mask, a human man by its shape, holding what looks like a shotgun standing in a door at the rear of the dining hall. The armed man is holding a door, probably leading to the kitchens, oven with his foot and keeping an eye on the room.
Gil hops over the bar, notes that the barkeeper looks stunned, and grabs the fallen shotgun.
"Stay down mate, you'll be safer," he shouts to the barkeeper and then heads towards the door. At the doorway to the bar, Gil pauses. Takheal is across the hall peeking through a door into the dinning area. To his right is the airlock to the outside and to his left down a corridor are the gaming rooms. The doors to the gaming rooms are closed and all of you can hear shouts and gunshots coming from that direction.
Charles backs Gil up, grabbing another chair in case it might come in handy. Charles stops behind Gil when the man does and looks around him into the corridor. He catches a glimpse of a figure holding a shotgun beyond the door into the dining room. He doesn't think that man has seen him or Gil. Charles also sees Takheal across the corridor peeking into the dining room through the door. He probably has seen the armed figure in there and appears to be trying to be unseen.
You'll have to cross the open door to the dining room to move toward the gaming rooms and will be in 2's line of sight when you do. If you try to head outside through the airlock, Takheal has seen 1 holding position outside the dome with line of sight on the airlock, Charles and Gil have not.
You all know there is "action" going on behind the closed doors to the gaming rooms, but how many people (armed or otherwise) you don't know.

Takheal cautiously takes a peek around the air lock to his right where he had seen the armed man before. He is still there but he isn't watching the air lock. He has his back to you and as you watch disappears into a large hole in the side of the dome you're in. There is a parked air/raft near the hole in the side of the dome. Looking the other way, Takheal sees nobody. It looks like you could make a run for it through the air lock and up the path back toward the Main Dome. The area outside the casino is flat dirt, but about 40 meters away the path winds behind the first of a series of low hills. You'd be out of line of sight of anyone at the casino dome if you made it that far.

Gil asks Charles, "well, I guess we should try to get out of here without being heroes." He looks for the clearest path to Takheal and tries to use hand gestures to signal that they should try to get out of the dome.

Motioning Charles to follow, Gil quickly, but quietly, heads over towards Takheal. Charles is right behind him. Speaking in a low voice, and with an odd accent, Takheal begins to talk. "There was one man outside, but I think he has come into this dome. I suggest that we leave this place and make our way to the Main Dome. There is cover forty meters away, if we can run that far."

Takheal doesn't see the armed man outside who was near the air/raft. He doesn't see anyone in the other direction either.
With his signal Charles and Gil take off at a sprint across the open area just outside Leroy's. Takheal is right on their heels!
The trio is almost all the way to the cover when a pair of men come strolling around the bend and out from behind the low hill. The pair don't appear to be armed and both appear very startled by the trio charging toward them.
A slightly muffled shout from one the pair of men rings out, "What's going on?"
