As Hunter calls (quietly) everyone to graze (It is basically salad.) he wryly notes "We seem to have a born or trained leader in - 'Grineth' is it? Shall we consider you (to Darci's character, of whose gender Hunter neither knows or cares) as our decision-maker, with each of us supplying our expertise?" (He shakes Axel awake.) "Mealtime, Lazybones. You take first watch."
Axel: "I was just resting my eyes!" (yawns)
{if anyone had been watching, Hunter did not punch Axel unconscious. He just seemed to "hug" him or something similar. No big deal.}

(Trask runs in from the stables {Wonder if he found anything?} and with no sense of decorum, blurts out..)
Trask: "FOOD! What - no meat?"
Karba: (Nobody else grabbed the keys, so she did.) "Hey guys, would descending stairs be a good thing or a bad thing? Because - oh, food!"
(My characters may or may not have one-track minds when it comes to food, but I do.)

Sora and Josiah and their two new (and unfortunately still nameless) friends cooperate with the rest of the party to share out defense and other duties. Without being obvious about it, they make certain that at least one of the four of them are awake for each watch, however. Each also tries their best to remain within shouting distance of each other . . . just in case. OOC: Has this little group found out anything about the stables yet?[OOC: Don't know . . .] As 4/5ths of the group's Mulviggites [correct term??] pass Gwindeth on their way to check out the stables, they all [including Sora, albeit stiffly] nod politely at her and the new priest belatedly offers introductions: Thumping his own chest with a gauntleted fist, he says "Demannu Clerich1." Then pointing at his travelling companion, he adds, "Manuned Githferth2."_____________________________________________ 1Dee-MAN-oo Clear-itch 2Mah-NOO-Ned Gith-FURTH

The stablesare very sturdy & have been kept in good repair. Once the doors have been locked from the inside they could give a solid defense to those inside. What are the rest of you doing? Has anyone chosen to go down the stairs found in the back room of the lodge? The Dwarf & Halflings can see heat signatures of which are nearly scant in the darkness below. You'll need a torch or lantern to see details below.

Once that is dealt with, then Grimdeath and Grimbane will go unlock the well with Togork ready to bash anything that might rear its ugly head. The rest of us will watch at the ready. Assuming there are no problems and the water is good the three halflings will draw water for the party and the livestock and then relock the well covering in place. As a group we will prepare ourselves for the night and sort out the watches. OOC: I'm thinking three watches of three on each watch to cover the walls tonight. The main gate is secured and barred, already taken care of. We are in agreement about watches and just need to set them. As noted the water is good and the three male halflings have drawn water for the whole party and for the livesstock and then relocked the well.

Maybe a small rodent or few scared by the noise and light from the open door. The three half-orcs will descend to check it out, (the dwarf may come along if he wishes) Gwindeth carries the torch and the other two have weapons at ready as they lead the way down the stairs. As you descend the stares your torchlight casts away the darkness revealing a wide room covered in dust and cobwebs hang in the corners. A few mice are seen crawling between a crack in the wall which seems abnormal. There are a few brackets upon the walls to hold lanterns. There is a locked door to the side of the stairs - to the left if facing the stairs but to the right if stepping off of them. The stairs are built flush with the wall. The crack is on the far side of the room. Above Sora, Trask and Demannu Clerich do notice a few things as they search the lodge and surroundings - numerous runes that incorporate those that link them to Môlvigg protection spells. This might be one of the reasons this lodge has yet to be sacked and ruined. But from their studies hunting lodges are rarely if ever given such protection.

Sora looks around at his two companions, raises an eyebrow and says in a speculative tone: "So . . . not a hunting lodge? Or - at least - not a lodge dedicated to hunters of normal things? I think we should inform the others about this."

First, Trask peeks into that crack. What seems abnormal about it? Being a Dwarf Trask being especially knowledgeable about stonework and the fact their is an empty space behind what should be solid stone. As he studies the crack he notices a near invisible hairline crack that makes out a door.

Trask: (speaking as quietly as he knows how) "Fellers, there's one of them 'secret doors' here. Now this presents two opportunities. If this leads to the the lair of them things and/or the possible dungeon of the scuzzbuckets behind all this. IF they know about it. I heard only a rat or an ol' possum. Could've been a giant anaconda, 'cause them things are reeeal silent when they move.
"Now if'n no one knows about this passage, we can slip in and get the lay of the land. Those critters got to have someone or somethin' intelligent using them.
"We might wanna block this and get some rest tonight, keeping watches. 'Coz it could be a way to ambush us if the enemy on the other side knows it - and we - are here."

Sora and his companions enter the building in time to hear the above speech.
Clearing his throat softly, Sora offers in a quiet voice, "The stable might be a better place for us to actually sleep. Assuming it doesn't have a similar door which we didn't find, that is. But trying to set a trap at this door might be a good idea. Maybe a lit candle, that we can watch to see if it's knocked over?"
Gesturing around at his companions, Sora adds, "We found some Mulviggite markings around the place, which might have been old protective runes. Might be that the proper ritual could empower them once more?"

The Steins have Mulviggite symbolism decorating them.

There are some pickled vegetables, two small casks of cider & one of mead, plus a tin of tea and another with pipe weed you also found in the store room. [Ref Voice: Let me know what your plans are going into the night - watches and any plans for the morning if things are clear through the night.]
