What method do you use for the hp calculation (character and monster)?

I use the Original Men & Magic tables, but I don't roll hit points for all the monsters. For the monsters I just assign hit points within the given range, some high, some low and some average. I do this because it is very fast.

Oh! You know what? I misread your question as "how do you calculate XP rewards?" I tend to use either the Men & Magic tables or make an ad hoc ruling (since I make up a lot of monsters and heavily modify most rulebook monsters).

As in Men & Magic. But ultimately it'll depend on the style of game; a Grim Dark campaign it is BtB, while a super-heroic cinematic one I might use Greyhawk.

I would have to say that I use both plus I seldom roll for the monsters I just assign them. I think I posted somewhere on here about how I do it but I don't recall where at the moment.

I seldom roll hit points and I only roll for wandering monsters now and then on the tables, I often just use what makes since in the moment

I just use the original, it is simple and if a fighter only has one hp, well tough, roll better next time.

Just the original as the guideline, but I just assign the hit points. I don't roll them.
