Good luck. I know it sucks to not feel well after my own major health issue early last year. Not being able to breathe well is especially alarming. That wasn't the issue last year but as a child I suffered from a debilitating form of asthma and had full blown pneumonia several times, and I'm told the COVID symptoms closely mirror that for many, so if you're feeling like you're breathing water instead of normal air, I can relate and sympathize, and hope for your speedy recovery.

When you see the doctor tomorrow if your oxygen levels are up in the 95% range I am told that is a good sign, but if it is a lot lower, then that is a sign you have Covid 19. Got back from the clinic a couple of hours ago. My oxygen level was 97%, so by that criteria I might be okay.

COVID symptoms closely mirror [pneumonia] for many, so if you're feeling like you're breathing water instead of normal air, I can relate and sympathize, and hope for your speedy recovery. The issue with my breathing is that it hurts on the inhale. I figure this has something to do with pressure differential in/around my lungs, since while using my CPAP machine (which works to keep my airway continuously inflated) I have barely any pain at all. When I stop using it, for a couple of minutes the "okay" continues, but then pain on the intake gradually begins to come back. And this just occurred to me . . . I was using my CPAP on the way down to the clinic and while waiting in my car. I didn't stop using it until just before the nurse put the oxygen sensor on my finger. So that 97% reading was probably false, in the sense that - if unaided by my CPAP - the reading would have been at least somewhat (maybe significantly) lower. < sigh > I guess we'll know in a few days.

Praying for EHS! As for me, I think I've figured out what happened. In trying to adjust our lobby to meet Covid requirements, all the furniture was moved down to the far end (away from the front desk area). Doing this exposed a length of wall through which a constant seep of water comes whenever we get a hard rain. I strongly suspect that the inside of that wall is full of mold, but it never bothered me before because the furniture blocked air movement enough to keep any loose spores away from the desk. It was only the initial shock of exposure - that first day back after a month away - which seems to have been dangerous. All I've gotten since then is a scratchy throat. But now that the activated-charcoal masks my brother ordered finally arrived, I'm wearing one as much as I can while at work. This seems to help quite a bit.

Mold is bad news, you probably need that activated charcoal until that is dealt with so good that you have them. How much business are you having?

EHS is in a lot of pain tonight, I am really hoping they can get him pain relief so he can get some rest and that on the morrow they can solve his issue.

Mold is bad news, you probably need that activated charcoal until that is dealt with so good that you have them. I'll be wearing them for the foreseeable future. Masks tend to make other folk more comfortable about the Covid, but in my case they're mostly for me. Given how the hotel is currently barely experiencing positive cash flow, I don't see the owners investing in tearing out the lobby wall to eliminate a *probable* mold issue. How much business are you having? See above. Barely enough to cover routine bills (power, water, sewage, housekeeping/laundry supplies, etc) and payroll. Actually, we're probably operating in the red, since we're only charging about half our normal May weekday rates and have very low occupancy (14-20%) on those days. We do better on the weekends - getting up to ~50% occupancy, particularly this coming Memorial Day weekend (assuming all current reservations actually show) - but to get that percentage we had to keep rates fairly low. All in all, we're taking in about a third of the revenue we would normally be getting during this period of a normal year.

Health Update:
I will likely have my procedures tomorrow unless my pain and inflammation don’t go down enough to do it. If not, it will be on Tuesday instead. Might have to an MRI sometime after I have digested my food. I just got a shot in my belly, just in the fleshy bit but it stings. I wonder if my grandma felt that way when I gave her her insulin shots?

Prayers and positive thoughts your way! I've had some serious kidney stone problems not sure how it compares. healthy at the moment thankfully. I have had a kidney stone and have been trying to never repeat the experience. Had em twice in 20 years. First passed, second was too big (7mm) and required surgery. First was strangely more painful the second blocked things up. 24 hours of nonstop vomiting sent me to the ER. Funniest thing was I got hit by a truck in a crosswalk in 2016 and they saw it in the catscan but it had not moved then so hospital never mentioned it to me.

Wow, IMO there are too many things that never get mentioned to people. I drink huge amounts of water every day around 96-106 ounces every day. Of course I am a pretty big guy too 6'3", but they told me to keep the fluids high to avoid another kidney stone and over the years for almost everything else too.

I'm ~45 pounds overweight (200 when I should be ~155), type 2 diabetic with high blood pressure and sleep apnea. Oh! And my carpal tunnel has recently made a rather savage reappearance (my own fault as I don't do my finger stretches with any sort of regularity).

Raiken I must be related to you too! 53 this year (Sept.) A little overweight but much less than when I was diagnosed Type-2 with the Hypertension and high cholesterol. When the Doc walked into the exam room and said "we were afraid you were going to stroke out on us" I kind of figured things were not good. Made an effort to get healthier then and have accomplished much of that goal. I like to surprise her every time I visit. I get the impression by her surprise that a majority of her patients do not take her advice to heart though. Her running gag is that I'm her one patient that suffers more injuries trying to get healthy. First visit was because of broken metatarsals due to the treadmill. Then while out for a daily walk I get hit by a pick up. Low oxalate diet due to kidney stones means cutting back on healthy foods I was eating to control type-2, no win situation!

I had a very bad day yesterday. Still in the process of finding a new place to live but I should find on asap, I have been given a lot of resources. Liveworks NW who handles my therapy is going to get me a new therapist as I have been without one for a few months and my mental health isn’t doing well if yesterday was any indication.
That said my best friend has been a wonderful support for me and I for her. I finally got made eligible for DHS Vocational Rehab. Now hopefully I can get the Neurological testing I was told that they wanted me to get so I: 1) can get a proper mental health diagnosis and 2) find out if I have brain damage from my 5 concussions and 3) if either or both has any impact upon my ability to work and what limits they might be.
