I am embarrassed to say this, but I am having a really difficult time with anxiety about this injury. I have been getting a bit of a runaround but now finally should be able to see the "right" doctor on Thursday. I hope. I am glad but also really scared. Not happy. Just posted on my sub and finished some work and I just feel terrible. Hang in THERE!!!! Thought and prayers

Can I share something happy in this thread, in hopes of lifting the spirits of those who need it?

OK. Nov 1 was my mom's 80th birthday. Last weekend we gave her a surprise birthday party. I, my wife, and our two kids had to travel the farthest; most of the rest of my family was there, along with a solid number of her family from the area (she moved back to that area three years ago - best thing she's done). We had close to 35 people there.
There wasn't a minute that passed that someone wasn't laughing at something that someone else said or did - cutting up, joking around, or just being silly. The highlight of the event was when my brother's wife gave my mom a watch that my dad originally bought her in 1962, that my mom had asked to have repaired. As happy as she was overall, that made her day.
This will remain in my memories as one of the best family gatherings we've ever had, ranking up there with "The Best Thanksgiving EVAR", Thanksgiving 2013.
May God richly bless all of you who are struggling in your lives. May you have your own days of joy, and soon see an end to your current struggles. May you be strengthened for the next chapter of your lives. And may this hobby which we enjoy be a source of joy for us all.

We just celebrated the life of my Wife's beloved Grandmother who passed at 88. Calling hour turn out simply unbelievable. Almost non-stop for 4 hours. Easily 300+ attendees. She and her brood really have touched a lot of lives, simply amazing.

Here's something that is encouraging. Wednesday evening my new neighbors that moved in during August, came over and knocked on my door to say, "We don't know if you have plans or not, but if you don't we'd love you to come over for Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow." I did have plans today, my cousin oldest daughter hosted about 40 of us today (and another cousin had another 40 or so today), but I was very grateful and very encouraged with my new neighbors. I have talked to them once or twice a week since they moved in. They are 26 or 27ish and have a two year old. They have gotten to know my dog too.

Prayers for him to make a quick recovery. I feel for both of you and can't even imagine, the back being so vital to everyday life! I once had 10 broken ribs, bad enough. Can't imagine constant back pain.

Back on a scale of 1-10 when it is a 4-5 you can get used to it and deal with it, but when it is going 6-7 or higher it is just misery. I got a back treatement yesterday and it is a lot better today. My insurance does not cover it though, so I have to pay out of pocket 100%.

(the house did not need it, but the back patio cover did).

All torso injuries, no back or head so I count myself fortunate. One thing for sure, eroom staff as fast as NASCAR pit crew in getting ones wardrobe off to triage injuries lol

I maybe seeing a neurologist in either December or January to see if I have any brain damage from the 5 untreated potential concussions that I have had. Not sure if I have any but I have issues remembering complex directions given verbally yet I can learn via observation and hands on use of skills.
They also want to see if I suffer from ptsd or some other mental illness issues and how they can impact my ability to hold a job and whether I qualify for vocational rehab and/or SS disability.
