Ok, you arrive at the plaza:
There is an overgrown plaza carved out of the hillside. An ancient door leads into the darkness. The scroll mentions that to open the door, the entrants must sacrifice a living creature weighing at least two stone (28 lbs). The door will then open for a period of 2 hours. It doesn't mention if the door can be opened from the inside. The door may only be opened this way once per day.
Hmm, you have bagged a rabbit, but it's probably not 2 stone...

Any other wild game in the area? Boars, deer, or goats perhaps?

Any other wild game in the area? Boars, deer, or goats perhaps? I'll assume Megathew (who has a bow) will do some hunting. After a couple days, he is able to snare a beaver which should fit the needs.

Kaira, would you like to perform the sacrifice?

Kaira, would you like to perform the sacrifice? Sorry I've been holding up the show. Kaira is now ready to perform the sacrifice with all attendant rituals.

Kaira ritually slits the throat of the beaver and follows the ritual on a stone altar in the courtyard. A pair of heavy doors, about 6' wide each, swings open revealing passage branching off in two directions, West and South. Each passage is 10' wide and disappears into the gloom.
For the mapper, the entrance is basically in a 15' diagonal section of wall running from NW to SE, the entry space is about 15' across to another 15' section of wall running NW to SE, with 10' of wall running West and South from the door, leaving 10' wide passage openings West and South (so basically the entrance area is sort of 20'x20' with the SW and NE corners cut off diagonally.
Who is lighting torches or other light?
Oh, and now we need a marching order...
With the size party you have, you should have at least two people with light.

No torches here, seeing others had more to spend. Have spear and happy to travel in the first or second rank.

My men-at-arms Torn and Tern will each light a torch and I know that Adara also got extra torches for Desiree as I did, and Koss got extra torches for Magni. I suggest that Tom and Torn take turns with Desiree and Magni carrying torches. Each time new torches need to be lit, they can switch off.
Marching order I suggest for the three wide config
Xeric, John the Tame and Fat Burt in the first rank Koss, Magni and Torn with Magni and Torn taking turns with the torch carrying duties Adara, Kaira(me) and Megathew (Megathew what is your man named?) Boris, Desiree, Tern with Desiree and Tern taking turns with the torch carrying duties Odessa and Djon Figgs
What does everyone think of this for a first iteration?

With torches lit, you can see that the passage west is 20' long and then widens into a chamber that is 20' across (can't tell how wide yet). You can see three boddies in ragged and torn clothing on the floor. To the south, the passage leads but 10' before opening into a chamber 30' across. There is a door on the opposite wall, that chamber appears to be an unusual shape (again, can't yet see the whole chamber yet).
What do you do?

What do you guys think? West passage? Usual cautious approach to scope out the chamber, get a closer look at the bodies?

Let's carefully investigate the bodies.

As you approach the bodies, they slowly rise... Due to how slow they arise, you are not surprised, they are not surprised.
You automatically have initiative, what do you do?

Are the bodies human in appearance? Regardless, Koss will panic and attempt to TURN UNDEAD!! He says, "Anhur repels you back into the darkness!"

Koss presents his holy symbol to no effect (rolled 7), however when Magni soon follows suit (rolled 11), the three human appearing walking dead flee (shuffling) into the darkness.
Congratulations on turning your first zombies...

Astonished, Koss looks over at Magni, mouth open. "You remained calm under pressure. Very impressive. Anhur shows you great favor." Koss grins at Magni and through the side of his mouth he says softly, "We should compare notes sometime. Show me your tricks!" Koss playfully pats Magni on the shoulder and watches the Zombies stumble away.
I'd like to examine this room in more detail. What are the walls made of? Are they natural or man-made? Are there any noises or echoes that we pick up?

ffilz How do you want us to handle the NPCs? Are you planning on playing them? Should we direct them? I didn't want to step on your toes.

"By the gods! Why were they on the floor like that?" Fat Burt was surprised. He now tries to find some clues about his questions. Otherwise, he agree to follow his comrades

I will allow you to generally direct NPCs, and even do role play for them. If I feel like they are being abused or wouldn't do something, I'll speak up for them.
The chamber is 20' east/west and 30' north/south, with you coming in the center of the east side. The corners on either side of the entrance are cut off 45 degrees (so the room is sort of a half-octagon). There is a 20' long, 10' wide passage leading south from the west side of the room. It ends in a door, also with doors on either side.
The walls are rough hewn stones, with flagstone floor. The ceiling is about 12'. There is a pile of refuse on the floor.

Excellent find! Koss motions for the others to claim their share. He suggests that we divvy up the silver according to our prearranged agreements.
He says, "A fortuitous beginning to our venture! Claim your silver!" Then he considers and says, "Or, should we leave the coin here hidden in plain sight? Collect it on our way out?"

“Good to be judicious about what we take. But I think there’s enough of us to divvy up the silver.” Says the broke man as he pokes around the refuse pile with his spear.

You count out about 67 silver each.
