You are posting that is all that matters mao . I've been struggling as well with my creativity and reading; which is aggravating me as I love to do both. I'll be running a PbP soon here & will post another regional mini-setting asap (I need to get it typed up as it is in handwritten form in my note book at the moment). Said as he keeps posting great ideas. Well, lets just say I'd be posting more & creating more if things hadn't fallen apart with my friend. It is getting ideas from my head to either paper or document files or posts that is the biggest issue.

I'd love to help but my muse is stone cold dead. It's no wonder! Mr. Fudd, Mr. Fudd, It's Rabbit Season and That's No Rabbit! Oh you forgot your glasses, here put these on before you shoot!

4389 posts, I really though I would make it to 10,000. This is my final post and I want to thank all of you from the bottom of my heart for being such a great collection of members, for making this the friendliest old school forum bar none and for being the most legit old school group around. Keep playing games like Arneson always did and like Gygax did pre-publication. Look at that Introduction thread 1,103 posts in only and exactly three and a half years as of today 7/12/18. Be proud of what that says about all of you. Goodbye, I love you all and I wish all of you the very best. I can not thank all of you individually or I will be here all night. But I will thank mormonyoyoman as a good friend and I ask all of you to pray for him. He is having a lot of health problems right now and typical of him he does not talk about them much. He has only partial use of one of his arms. While I hope you all stick around and keep this place growing. I will completely understand if you go somewhere and create your own place. Best regards and blessings on you all, David

While I hope you all stick around and keep this place growing. I will completely understand if you go somewhere and create your own place. Best regards and blessings on you all, David Sorry to see you go! Although I haven't been here very long (as PbP counts time), I appreciated your efforts greatly. Hope everything works out okay, for all concerned. Sincerely, Richard

If you'll excuse me, I'm going to revert back to my old life as a mean sergeant and go to my room and cry.
The bad guys won.

Thank you for the welcome. These stat threads are a tradition here so I will endeavor to continue them. In the meantime I am learning how to use the software for the forum.

They are okay. but I prefer Chocolate Cream Pie best. Nothing beats a good Chocolate Cream Pie! I get a slice of that most times that I eat at my local Long John Silvers (which is quite often, so often that they give me the employee discount).

I'm fond of Butterscotch myself. I'm a Lemon meringue fan. The meringue is tricky to make so you have to let the cook know just how much she is appreciated.

In keeping with established tradition I present to you the forum statistics for the month of July 2018. It took me a lot longer than the 5 minutes my predecessor claimed.

We be going strong! Yeah! Based on total numbers for the life of the forum we are averaging about 13+ posts per thread. I think one facet of growth that would be due to interesting topics would be to see that average number of posts per thread grow. For example a sample of a few other forums shows average of 16+, 18+ and 26+ posts per thread. Part of that is the number of people participating in conversations and part of it is how interesting is the topic.

In the case of PbP, some GMs start new threads when the current scene or cast changes significantly. Others don't.

In the case of PbP, some GMs start new threads when the current scene or cast changes significantly. Others don't. Subtracting out the pbp numbers and running it again reduces the 26+ to 25+, the 18+ to 13+ and the board with 16+ does not have a pbp area. So on the one board the pbp is insignificant on the other it is a substantial difference. If I correct ours for the pbp it reduces our 13+ to 12+.

(I took Statistics 101 in college, but I got only a C in it. Math and I never really got along.)

So on the one board the pbp is insignificant on the other it is a substantial difference. If I correct ours for the pbp it reduces our 13+ to 12+. So . . . we're right on the mean, then? (I took Statistics 101 in college, but I got only a C in it. Math and I never really got along.) I didn't attend college, so you have me there. Among the four sampled boards including ours we are in fourth place by a small amount. Moving into third is very doable, and even moving in to second I expect to happen over the next year. Matching the board in first place by this one criteria is a matter of longevity, growth in membership, interesting topics and growth in the core of very active posters in no particular order. The analytics available will not really let me break it down further than that. It is my opinion that interesting topics is the key to the other three. Given that we have a fraction of the membership of the other three boards, I am very pleased with where we are at and that we are as close as we are. The board that has double our number of posts per thread also has a membership 45 times larger than ours. The board we trail by a little over 1 post per thread has a membership of 3.5 times ours. That gap in posting can be easily closed if we continue to build on last month.
