This forum is the place to announce/start new PBP games and the place to advertise for players in new games and for any openings that you might have in existing games. Just start a new thread in this forum and we will follow it with you. If you have any questions relative to this forum please post those questions to my attention in this thread.

I really want to run a Play By Post campaign on this site, but I am unsure of what I want to run specifically.
I have ideas for Original D&D (by means of a retro-clone for the time being), Holmes Basic, or a new-school system like Big Eyes Small Mouth.

Alright, I think I will. I do have a campaign setting I want to try out, but it's not a medieval fantasy setting, so I might not use OD&D just yet.

My Traveller game here ruinsofmurkhill.proboards.com/board/172/traveller-murkhill-subsectoris going through a reboot with the "Rim Runner" group. They have gone from 6 people to 1 person. A new player has taken over one of the old PC's, so now I have two players. I think we can go with this, but if somebody is interested, check out all the threads marked Rim Runner and see if you want to play

I've never played Traveller or in a PbP but it something I'd like to do; be it in Rim Runner or another Classic Traveller PbP campaign.

Which would you prefer? Taking over an established, or creating your own?

Would you have any objection to me writing Supplement 4 Citizens of the Imperium code and sending it to you?

Would you have any objection to me writing Supplement 4 Citizens of the Imperium code and sending it to you? That would be very cool and I would happily take such code. I do want to have that in there at some point, though I need to figure out if there's a good way to specify which "include" file to use, I want to swap my alternate skill tables in, and that's a lot more invasive than the few options I've put into Book 1 careers. Also, want to make the whole Supplement 4 section optional. But 90% of the effort will be in just getting the 12 Supplement 4 careers coded up. If you're up at all on github, you can even submit a pull request... And I'm sure Paul Gorman will take it too... Oh, and you don't have to ask permission... It's licensed BSD, so open source... I've been considering running a PbP game here - that said I am still trying to decide on what rule set to use. Though I like OD&D I am not sure I want to run it yet. I figured I can run a more crunchy game via PbP far better than face to face at a table thus scratch that itch, which leads me to the following questions:
1) Can I run a non-OD&D/Classic D&D, Arduin or OSR game here? I am contemplating Rolemaster, HARP or DCC.
2) If so, are there players interested in such a PbP - who can post weekly at the least (preferably 2-3 times a week)?
3) If so, do they have access to the basic books or PDFs needed?
4) If not one of the above, would there be instead interest in either a Treasure Hunters or Torch and Sword (beta) based campaign or another OSR of the like?
Note that I am just looking for general interest, so that I will know if I should begin prepping and if I do, what system to prep for. I do know that I'll not be using either of my current settings - though the setting I might use MAY be fused into either one OR I may simply use one of my pre-bought D&D settings for simple ease of play.

If I ever run a PbP again, I doubt I'll use rules unless absolutely necessary, and then minimally.

I deleted two of my posts - as the more I thought about it the less interested in running a Rolemaster Express I became. Though I'll always be nostalgic for RM & Cyberspace, I think I'll just run a OSR or OD&D based game with house rules. I'll go through my PDFs and OSR books to figure out which one I'd prefer to run. I also need to go through my Chainmail PDF and see if I run OD&D if I'll use any rules from there.

I am debating between running one of the following: Delving Deeper v.4, Full Metal Plate Mail or OD&D (with or without Chainmail). I'll need to read through DD, FMPM & CM before I decide which one I use.

I've been considering tossing it into the mix, i just have to make time to read the PDFs first so I have a good and solid grip on the basics. Eventually I'll be buying DD, FMPM & SVoZ in print, though the last one will come last as their are five books to buy compared to the rest. I'll be printing out Chainmail asap too.

I'll be eventually running a Delving Deeper v.4 campaign, I am waiting to get it in print to be easier absorbed. The campaign will be based in my mini-regional campaign setting 'Ruins of Dorgand', but I need to create a regional map, a map for the Township of Last Hope & the maps for the Ruins of Dorgand and their catacombs and caverns below it. I'll seek to have a campaign forum for for the potential PbP if there is interest for one here. I won't seek the forum until I get it done with the prep work so I don't fail the players.

It looks like I got Mighty Darci willing to play in a DD PbP game here on Murkhill, any other takers? All I have to do is draw up a few maps & stat up a few key npcs and I'll be ready to go. I am nearly done reading the DD. v4 rules and understand them enough to run a game. Once I get a 'Ruins of Dorgand' PbP forum I'll post character creation and other needed info. If this one goes well, I'll likely run a second PbP in one of my other regional settings I am working on, but potentially using either Fullmail Platemail or The Big Brown Book RPGs for another flavor of OD&D. So I was wondering if either mormonyoyoman or Admin Pete can create a Pbp forum for me, for my 'Ruins of Dorgand' setting?

Scheduled for 12:15 pm, Monday, when I can use Big Boy, so-named because he's a small laptop.
