The Red Baron, Von, Necromancer, makofan: Okay, negotiations have been open for a week now. I haven't heard / seen a lot of activity so I just wanted to check in and not close things off prematurely. The Red Baron, when you mentioned sending out a search party for Constans, were you speaking in or out of game? I assure you I have "metagamed" this one! If you want to do something in-game, tell me what you have in mind and we should be able to rule something up. Remember, this is the time to send me any spy or scouting requests, if you have not already done so. Thanks, all.

The Red Baron, Von, Necromancer, makofan: TURN 3: Spring of the Year of the Heavenly King 991. Phase: REINFORCEMENT REINFORCEMENT IS NOW OPEN! PRIVATE NEGOTIATIONS ARE NOW CLOSED. Please conduct any further negotiation publicly, on the Crier. All have received appropriate PMs from me regarding any negotiation orders and relevant phase-related information. At this time please PM your Reinforcement Orders to me continuing with previous PMs or starting new ones with the subject "PC short name, Kingdom Name: Reinforcement Orders," specifying you are now giving orders for Turn 3. You may place your armies in any realm you currently occupy. You may spread them thin or build them up in one locale, etc. FIGHT ON!

The Red Baron, Von, Necromancer, makofan: Update: I am in the "education profession" and I am swamped as the semester ends. The good news is, I am on sabbatical next semester. I will actually execute your orders soonish. But I predict swifter play in the new year. I thought it fair to let y'all know that I am still here!

The Red Baron, Von, Necromancer, makofan: I am trying to get back into the swing of this campaign. I have been studying up to execute everyone's reinforcement orders but I have found that only half have submitted such orders since I opened up that phase back in October (looks like I'm not the only one behind!). Please get those reinforcement orders to me (I've PMed you) and then I will keep us moving along. Thanks!

The Red Baron, Von, Necromancer, makofanTURN 3: Spring of the Year of the Heavenly King 991. Phase: INVASION INVASION IS NOW OPEN! Please PM your invasion orders with the subject "PC short name, Kingdom Name: Invasion Orders." You can use a previous PM thread with the same name, just designate that these are orders for turn 2. Please study the Rules and Clarifications thread and the description of invasion orders given there before outlining your invasion orders. Please post any rule-clarifying questions in that thread and we will work things out. Continue to place meta-gaming questions in the Announcements and Discussion thread and in-character announcements, negotiations, BATTLE CRIES!, etc., on the Christendom Crier thread. I have received two of four invasion orders.
I will be on a sabbatical writing retreat over the next week.
I will try to check in but posting may be erratic.
As soon as the other two orders are in, and my retreat is over, I will execute those orders.
Thanks!

The Red Baron , Von , Necromancer , makofan : Guys, I need to check in with you. I have received three of four invasion orders. One of our most faithful, Von , seems to be missing in action. I've contacted him several times to no avail. Who knows what life has dished up for him and I wish him well. But I am losing energy. I thought I might NPC his attack order to keep things moving. But then I am wondering if there is anything to keep moving. How do you guys feel? Shall we retire this game, evaluate the experience and move on? Or shall I NPC Catherine so we can move on with this game turn? If you guys are still interested, that will keep me going. If you are not, I will have no problem retiring this as a good and interesting effort whose time has come.

Frankly, I have enough on the go (I am currently running 8 games, and adventuring in 5 others) that I would be more than happy to ditch this game.

Well, the game has been a bit slow, and unfortunately we have lost a few good guys along the way (or so it seems), but I could be up for it if the rest of you would be interested. However, if we should call it a day, that's ok too. If so, I'd like to thank tetramorph for running this; I've had a good time! I hope it's been a worthwhile experience for you. Have an Exalt!

The Red Baron, Von, Necromancer, makofan: I choose to retire this PbP game. There were moments I had a lot of fun and I certainly had fun executing the concept over all. I could not have predicted how slow-going such a campaign would be before actually giving it a try. I thank each one of you, The Red Baron, Von, Necromancer and makofan, for sticking it out, making good decisions and playing with commitment. I am, of course, open to any feedback. I would love to read what was good about the experience for you. I would also learn from any constructive criticism. In-game: fight-on! In-real-life: Peace

For some reason I was no longer receiving notifications re. messages and new posts on this entire forum. Strange, and disappointing. I've also been writing like the clappers for the last six weeks and a lot of side interests have been lost in the mix.
I regret that you feel let down - it wasn't my intention to abandon the ship, certainly not when things were warming up down Byzantium way.
In terms of feedback, I think that setting more rigorous time limits for each phase would not have been unreasonable. A bare minimum contribution amounts to considering and giving the orders for each step of the turn. How long does that really take? Give players a week and execute the results the week after; that would keep the game moving forward at a fairer clip than was managed here. Such pacing of play would create more investment and inspiration among the player base and encourage contributions beyond the bare minimum - I think.
