Every crew member has boarded The Clear Sails well before the 0800 boarding call set by Blackjack.
At precisely 0800 Chief Factor Cho and her assistants approach the hatch of The Clear Sails. Raven and Thazar are on the bridge. Raven is familiarizing herself with the changes that Blackjack has had made and Thazar is working up a jump plot from Patagonia to Elati.
The intercom buzzes and they hear, "Permission of come aboard."
The camera show Cho and her people standing on the gangway just outside the hatch. The assistants are pulling and carrying several bags and suitcases.
Down in the Sickbay, Dr. Vargas looks up when the intercom buzzes. He has it turned on to ship wide communications right now. He has been elbow deep in the new Autodocs. These are remarkable devices! If he can get someone into one of the two, still alive, they can almost certainly be saved. Besides that, with the auto application of Slow Drug that they do, a weeks worth of healing can be done in a day. That is amazing!
Cyril has just completed cooking a buffet style breakfast in the Galley and is laying out food for crew and passengers when he hears the intercom buzz.
Peng is napping in his hole under the starboard turret. He has an alarm set to go off at 0830 and his comm set to let through calls from Raven and Blackjack.
Gilroy is surveying the stateroom he's been assigned. There's no sign of Peng, who is his room mate, so he has his choice of bed and locker. The buzzing intercom draws his attention, but it's not about him so he goes back to what he was doing.
Baltus stands just behind Cho on the gangway. Cathy is to his left and the other two assistants are behind them.
Blackjack is in Engineering. He and Raven have been running simulations back and forth for most of an hour when the intercom buzzes.
"Hey! Right on time!" Blackjack says over the ship's internal system directly to the bridge, "Raven let 'em in. I'll be forward in a minute."

Raven asks Thazar to give her a 30 sec head start and then open the hatch, that gives her just enough time to be there as it opens to welcome Cho and her people aboard."Lois, welcome to The Clear Sails! Come on in, Blackjack will be here in just a moment and we will get all of you situated and give you the grand tour! "

Baltus takes note of Captain Firestorm's promptness and notes the standard security systems and judges them sufficient.

Blackjack says over the ship's internal system directly to the bridge, "Raven let 'em in. I'll be forward in a minute." [OOG: I take the wording in bold above to indicate that Blackjack made his communication with Raven as a private message, rather than a general push, therefore . . .]Peng grunts, turning over onto his back in the hammock and blinking blearily, as the hull members transmit the thump and whine of the lowering main hatch's hydraulics. He mumbles: "High muckity mucks just have to use the main cargo hatch. Why can't they climb in through the port manual, like ordinary folk?"
Peng then rolls over and promptly falls back asleep.

Doc Vargas rubs his eyebrows, finally satisfied with his checks and counterchecks. Is it that time already? Oh well, Cap will call if she needs him. He secures everything and walks up to the Galley, joining Cyril there. "Good morning! That smells good," he says, smiling sincerely.

After an all-too-brief but refreshing nap, Gilroy tidies himself up and heads for the galley. As he walks down the corridor, he smiles to himself at the appetizing fragrances wafting his way. "Well," he thinks to himself, "starting a voyage with a good meal is a wonderful thing and it smells like the chap cooking is a pro."
As he walks into the galley, he see Doc Vargas and asks, "So Doc, how does the medibay stack up?"

Doc Vargas nods in appreciation. "A remarkable improvement! Can't wait to see the autodocs in action..." He says, clearly enthusiastic, and his expression freezes for a second. "...er... not that I want any of you guys to need them... you know what I mean," he adds apologetically, his glance going from Gilroy to Cyril and back.
He then digs into his breakfast.

Smiling she leans forward and says with a smile, "He showed me around his Engine Room when I visited with him aboard a few days ago. I saw the Cargo Hold and had a walk through the passages where the staterooms and common areas are located, but not the Bridge. He said that was your domain."

While they are waiting for Blackjack to make his appearance Raven speaks, " Lois, do you have any additional cargo that will need to be loaded?" "Yes, the lorries with our modules should be arriving just about now." Cho looks over her shoulder and you see several trucks pulling up to your berth with large shipping containers on their flatbeds, "Baltus will you and Ben see to the unloading, please." Blackjack comes down the corridor and thrusts out his hand to shake Cho's, Lois, good to see you again! Come aboard! Come aboard!" He glances out at the trucks and their loads and says to Raven, "I see that Delgado's cargo has arrived, too. Let's get that loaded, and stowed away, okay?"

[OOG: Whenever thirty minutes have elapsed in-game, probably about the same time Baltus finishes overseeing the container loading . . .]
In the cramped confines of his turret, a sound like a shipping container full of cymbals falling onto a steel deck suddenly fills the air.
With a gasp that goes unheard under the clangor, Peng sits bolt upright in his hammock, his hair in wild disarray. For a split second he stares about with a panicky gaze.
Aaahhhhh! Nest of grasping tentacles! Host of snapping beaks! Dozens of bulging eyes!
Then Peng realizes he just woke up and sags in relief.
Dammit! I divorced Her years ago! The nightmares should have tailed off by now. But nooooo . . .
Peng slaps the nerve-jangling alarm off, then rolls out of his hammock and drops to the deck. Unhooking one end of the hammock, he rolls it up into a messy bundle and secures this to the other hook point. As the couch reconfigures to it's normal ready state beside him, Peng removes his [Batman] pajamas and - out of habit - starts to don the same only-slightly-dirty jumpsuit he wore the day before.
Wait. Jack wanted me to be "more presentable than usual" for this liftoff. Hmmmm.
Stuffing the jumpsuit into an already-somewhat-bulging carryon, Peng opens a large duffel and starts digging through it, discarding various items onto the decking as he goes.
Ah!
Pulling out a jumpsuit exactly like the one he just discarded (complete to the same wrinkles and frayed edges), Peng holds it's armpits and crotch up to his nose, sniffing each spot in turn.
Yeah. This one's clean. But I need to do laundry soon.
After zipping himself into the garment, Peng makes a couple of brushing gestures down its front - which do absolutely nothing to improve its sad appearance - before slipping on a scuffed pair of soft shipboots. Popping in a powerfully minty breath mint pulled from an outer pocket of the duffel, Peng steps across the short distance to the turret's manual hatch and begins to rotate the locking wheel.
Another day, another fifty centicreds, after taxes . . .

Blackjack leads the group aboard and strolling side by side with Cho leads them through the Forward Lounge to the starboard corridor saying, "You're staterooms are along here."
"While everyone gets luggage into the rooms will you join me in the Aft Lounge?" Blackjack asks Cho, "I think Cyril is serving breakfast back there."
"I wouldn't say no to a cup of coffee." Cho smiles and puts her hand on Jack's arm.
Arriving in the Aft Lounge they see Cyril, Doc, and Gilroy with the later two already eating.
"Hey, Cyril!" Blackjack calls out, "You got fresh coffee brewing?"
"May I?" Cho asks as she pulls out a chair at the table, "Good morning Doctor Vargas and, 'um' I think, Gill. Is that correct?"

Peng shoves open the starboard hardpoint hatch with a clang. Timing the half-skip, half-vault needed to get his vertically challenged self over the threshold just right, the gunner pivots around the heavy hatch as its limit spring causes it to rebound slightly, using that momentum to help return the heavy metal door to its frame.
That thing's a stone b***h to close by myself from a low angle of attack, if I don't get it right.
A quick quarter-spin of the locking wheel - just enough to engage the dogs before the hatch can bounce back open again - is followed by a more deliberate full-span cranking, accompanied by a staccato series of soft grunts as Peng puts his back into the last few wheel turns.
Safety first, last and always, out in the black.
Offering the OOD Thazar his usual wordless wave, Peng slouches across to the starboard bridge hatch, exits the bridge and begins working his way to the galley. He enters the compartment in time to hear the exchange between Gilroy and Cho, as the latter takes a seat. Peng acknowledges everyone with a generic mumbled "Mornin'", save for the Captain, who gets a lazy salute. He makes a beeline for the food . . .
Wish I could risk a beer. <sigh>
. . . then takes a seat as far as possible from the newcomers and digs in.

A few minutes after Cho and Blackjack enter the aft lounge, Cathy Jokivic and Ben Dean walk in together.
Ben is average height and weight with wavy hair and a short goatee the same brown as his hair. He is wearing a Delgado issue coverall and has a hand computer in a holster on his belt and what looks like a multitool attached to his belt on the the other side of his waist.
"Personal gear is in the assigned cabins." says Ben walking over and helping himself to the food, "We have weapons I suppose you'll want to pick up and lock away. They are in our cabins."
Cathy stands for a few seconds just inside the room observing before she nods to everyone and walks quietly over behind Ben to help herself to a plate of food. Cathy has her light brown hair pulled back into a shoulder length pony tail making her plain face look even more so, if that's possible. Her Delgado coverall fits her like a baggy sack.
"Ben swings a leg over a chair while forking eggs into his mouth and takes a seat, "Hello everyone! My name is Ben Dean and who's the cook aboard this ship? Good eggs!"
Cathy take a seat off to the side away from the main group. This puts her closer to Peng than anyone else. Her eyes move across Peng with no expression and then away, back toward the others. Her plate has a bit of scrambled, one slice of bacon, and a half slice of dry toast on it.

Baltus will oversee loading of the containers. He will check the seals on all of them and cross check container numbers etc. "Mr. van Rijn, I'll help." says John Ting brightly as he falls into step with the Baltus, "I oversaw getting these containers loaded on the trucks, and I'd like to finish the job of getting them aboard, so I asked Ben to let me do this." The young man has a serious expression on his face as he walks with Baltus, "Ben and Cathy volunteered to get our gear into our cabins for us." Young Ting is careful and serious in his work. He double checks the seals of the containers and works with the local stevedores to get the containers loaded and dogged to the deck, then checks the seals again after they are dogged down. By the time the pair are finished and see the truckers and stevedores off both Baltus and John have worked up a light sweat. Baltus' stomach rumbles with hunger. John wipes his face with a white handkerchief and then stuffs it back into a side pocket of his Delgado coverall saying with a grin, "Got that done! We'll need the ship's crew to sign off on it, though, right?"

Raven directed Ben and Cathy to the Delgado cabins and then directed them on to the galley once everything was in the cabins. She then went and joined Baltus and closely observed the loading of the containers, the checking of the seals and the cross checking of the container numbers, etc. Checking to see that nothing came aboard that was not on the Delgado manifest. Once everything was loaded and secured double checked and checked again, the truckers and the stevedores had departed she closed the hatch, secured it and signed off on the paperwork and said, "Alright Mr. van Rijn and Mr Ting, follow me on to the galley and we will have some breakfast, there should be plenty left and our Cyril is an amazingly good cook."
On entering the galley she greets Blackjack and Cho, and joins her charges in choosing a hearty breakfast along with juice and coffee.

Once all new additions to the crew are in the Aft Lounge, and after waiting politely for them to relax and eat breakfast, Doc Vargas catches their attention.
"By the way, there is a little welcome tradition that we'd appreciate all you newcomers going through." He smiles at them. "Just a tiny little medical check so that I can get your baselines and all that, in case anything happens. I'd appreciate it if you could head to the med bay one after the other after breakfast. I promise it won't hurt," he says with a quick wink.

Gynecological exams on the women? Blood work?

Gynecological exams on the women? Blood work? After breakfast, Doc Vargas will perform complete medical check-ups on the newcomers, opening new data files for them, integrating the records they bring but building a complete baseline for them from scratch. He will keep them noninvasive ( so, no gynecological work or body cavity searches, you devious GM), but will be taking and storing blood and urine samples, and baseline brain fMRI / rest EEG measurements (I assume the MRI tech is portable at this TL). The same he already has from every regular crew member (<grin>). He will also question them (and check for) any previous medical problems. He is looking for any conditions which might lead to complications in case of medical assistance, any pre-existing conditions, and anything which might be contagious, even if it is a common cold. He is, however, thorough enough that he will discover any serious stuff, like a slowly-building brain tumor or a recently broken bone, with a reasonable confidence. Oh, and a side test for susceptibility to space sickness---anybody testing positive gets a pack of pills for that. All that, of course, while politely chatting up the patients. Anything worth mentioning? ( Happy with the GM rolling for Doc).

"Captain Firestorm is in command while we're in space, but I'll just tell everyone what my overall orders to her are right now." Blackjack says looking around the group, "Madame Cho has told me that two other trading houses are very upset about her mission up to Mantan. Either may attack our ship to prevent us from completing it and that could happen here or later. We have also learned that there is more piracy further up the main from here as well as potentially unfriendly governments. So, I want us to proceed like we're in dangerous territory at all times. While we're in normal space sensors should be continually manned and gunners either in their turrets or on immediate call to man their stations." Blackjack looks directly at Raven, "Raven, we're going 'in harm's way' so treat this like we're a military ship moving through enemy territory. Is that clear?" OOC: I'm going to try to keep Blackjack in the background as much as possible. He'll be in Engineering, out of sight out of mind, most of the time. I want the PC's to drive events as much as possible. So, if you want orders ask Raven. Of course, if Raven needs direction, she can ask Blackjack.
