I'm okay to room with anyone. Gilroy is not obsessively neat, but he tends towards being somewhat orderly. ;-) Okay, Dr. Vargas is in 16 and the rest of you don't need to share, at this point. There are five of you and five open staterooms. If no one has a preference, I'll just assign you, but I thought I'd give you a chance to choose a room if you want to.

Baltus should be near Cho and Cathy, other than that, he has no preferences.

Peng would prefer to be as close as possible to his turret/ready room . . . because walking is such hard work, you know.

Peng would prefer to be as close as possible to his turret/ready room . . . because walking is such hard work, you know. Looking at the deck plan, Stateroom 19 would appear to be both closest to the starboard Turret and not yet claimed. So Peng would like that one, assuming the starboard turret was the original one and thus his traditional station.

Gilroy is looking at cabin 21. It's near his turret, but not too near.

Gilroy is looking at cabin 21. It's near his turret, but not too near. I hear you. Plausible deniability, eh? Peng figures that - should the unfortunate occasion of being caught actually arrive - he can always claim somebody else hid the small packages there, since there is no way to lock access to "his" turret. When the objection is made that since he only rarely leaves that area and thus the owner of the contraband is most likely to be him, Peng can reply in a wounded tone, "But that makes my turret the perfect hiding place for whoever DOES own it! Because everyone will assume it belongs to me!"

"But that makes my turret the perfect hiding place for whoever DOES own it! Because everyone will assume it belongs to me!" " And those that know you so well, will be content with that belief!" What?! You would shatter Peng's belief in his ability to charm his way out of trouble? For shame!

Referencing the current action scene: Methinks we might want to pause and let out poor GM catch up with all of our comments. We're starting to warp Delgado and its reps into something out of Shadowrun!

"Now, now, my darling woman, I am but a gentle, sensitive soul who is easily damaged." " Methinks thou protestith too much!" Grinning, Gilroy saunters off to stow his gear while whistling a bawdy tune. [ "Feisty gal! This trip should be quite an entertaining jaunt" he thinks to himself.]

Raven walks off humming her own little tune, in amazingly good spirits and looking forward to a new adventure.

[OOC: Eris, is there any specific information about the Morgan Church that Gilroy may have turned up or may I assume that it's just general knowledge and that he will act accordingly?]

[OOC: Eris, is there any specific information about the Morgan Church that Gilroy may have turned up or may I assume that it's just general knowledge and that he will act accordingly?] The Church of Morgan was started on Patagonia by, of all people, a guy named Morgan Morgan about 100 years ago. He preached against any civil authority and that his followers should only obey "church law." The church law's included a number of behaviors that outraged the, fairly conservative, Patagonian culture (polygamy, snake handling, use of illegal drugs to achieve "visions") and law (refusal to pay taxes, obey the police, acknowledge the Patagonian or Romanian governments in any way). The Church was banned, and after a series of firefights at Church Compounds, Morgan was arrested, charged with murder and executed...or martyred, in his followers eyes. The remaining members of the Church of Morgan went underground. A large number emigrated to SheaLea where they practice their religion openly. However, others remained on Patagonia, in hiding. Gilroy, and others among the group, will have heard of the Morgan Rebellion, but it is mostly a footnote of ancient history.

After refreshing himself on the history of the Morgan Church, Gilroy muses to himself "Hmm, this 'small package' might provide more excitement than may be warranted. I'll have to be cautious when I deliver it. No point in getting dragged any deeper into that business than is necessary. I need to remember to do more research on the waypoints in the future before I take on side deals."
Gilroy walks to his gun turret and begins going through the pre-flight checklist to make sure everything is in order. "Hate to wind up in a fire fight with a bodgy ship's gun. Just ruins one's day!" Clicking the intership communicator, he reports "Turret and weapons are all ship shape cap'n! When do we lift off?"

" Good job! Then continuing, Blackjack said this evening, so the time is approximate. I expect though it will be pretty quick once Blackjack, Cho and her people are aboard and situated. They should be here before too long. I would estimate we will be underway by 1900 hours, based on Blackjacks routine."

In case you haven't figured it out and it ever matters, I've decided to put my real world pop culture references into brackets - e.g. [Spiderman] - as a shortcut for typing something like [something in the popular culture of this setting which most closely resembles the real world's fictional Spiderman character].

Yes, it is on but tomorrow is Mother's Day and I am not surprised with really light traffic this weekend. I just hop on now and then to keep a check on things. I am following these pbp games with great interest and I am always disappointed if there are not new posts. Following a pbp game is addicting IMO even at the glacial pace them move at, the game is still more interesting that any amount of forum discussion outside the pbp section, so no matter how interesting the topic or discussion, I still check the two active games (Traveller and D&D) first before anything else.
