Ladies and Gentlemen
I have been postponing this announcement as long as I can, and I know I will bitterly disappoint people, especially as our games have just picked up recently. Some of you have gamed with me online since 2007 and know how seriously I take my game responsibilities.
Therefore, it is with deep sadness and contrition to announce that I will no longer be running any online games. This is mostly health related, but I would prefer not to go into specifics.
Best wishes to all the friends I have made

And, again, as I said over there, you have my prayers for your health and please know if you are ever able to return you will have a player in me. makofan I am really sorry to hear about your health issues, as someone who has ongoing health issues (as does my wife even moreso), I have a great deal of empathy for your situation. It has been a pleasure to have you running games and participating in the forum. My hope is for your recovery to the greatest possible extent and I hope you are able to stop in from time to time as your health permits. I will also pray for you for the best possible outcome for you and your family. I am confident that everyone will miss you as their Game Master, and will fondly remember the times they have spent online with you. I am hopeful that many across the various forums will look at your excellent example and be motivated and inspired to to do the same. I think I speak for all of your players in saying we all would have loved to have set at your table in person. If you are able to be online, you are always welcome to lurk or participate in anything you feel up to doing. If you were here where I am you would always be welcome at my table. Have an Exalt for being an awesome example of a great Game Master and an all around fun person to hang out with.

Wishing you all the best! Take care of your health and don't worry about us. We will find something to occupy our time, I am just glad that I got a chance to play in your games (here and over at Immersive Ink). You are very good and you will be missed as will your campaigns. Time to put yourself first. Hope that we see you online from time to time. I learned a lot from you just in the short time we had. Thank you!

I shouldn't even have started this campaign, but I let my enthusiasm for Traveller and Darci's enthusiasm overrule common sense. I'll assess my health and circumstances in September. Who knows, I could start up again. Atlantia is getting interesting and I would love to see how it turns out

I don't want to step on Makofan's toes, but if some (or all), of you want to continue to play Traveller I'd be willing to Referee a game for you.
If permission is granted by Perilous Dreamer, I would run it on this board, and all current Murkhill Subsector players would be welcome to join.
IAC, if there is interest, I'd like to discuss things...but not here, as that wouldn't be appropriate. Where would the appropriate place be on this board?

With Makofan putting his game on hiatus, I've decided to set up a Traveller game on The Ruins of Murkhill board. Perilous Dreamer has approved my request and is setting up a forum for me. It will be Exploring Mantan, where Mantan is the subsector and a system central to the subsector.
I've posted in the General Discussions forum asking for interest. I want to give Murkhill Subsector players first chance to sign up, so if you're interested let me know.

If I get three people saying yes, I think I will continue it Both games that I'm currently in on this site (which is the only site I'm currently gaming on) appear to be stalled at the current moment. I'm not casting blame, just stating the facts. So I've apparently got time to play in something else. As to a character, I'm quite content to take over an existing character and play him/her within whatever parameters have already been established. My first PbP experience was taking over an NPC who was a prisoner of the existing party, which (perhaps needless to say) was a very challenging but rewarding roleplaying endeavor! |

On Wednesday, while I was driving along one of our narrow little back roads around here, I was rammed from behind by a car full of pillheads who must have been doing at least 70 mph (40 mph over the speed limit). The really strange bit was that after hitting me, the crazy b***h then pulled up beside me and tried to force me into the guard rail. Then when that failed to put me out of commission, she tried to just speed up and drive away . . . except that her hood flying up kept her from seeing where she was going, so she had to pull over. When I pulled up behind her, another woman piled out of the car, screaming about there being a "guy dying in our car!" [So why were they driving at lunatic speed AWAY from the hospital?] Anyway, the guy woke up just after the ambulance got there. The cops took away all three of them. My car is driveable but the insurance company says it's a total loss. They haven't offered me a number yet, but given how old my car is, I doubt their check will be enough for me to get another car without having to make payments. . . again. It was nice to have a paid off car, while it lasted. Oh, well. Then the next day I got a job as a busboy at a local restaurant. It's a tiring job, which is why I haven't been on-line until now. But it's a simple one and that's what I want at the moment. Just clock in, work, clock out and pick up a check every two weeks. I hardly even have to speak to anyone at all, much less lie to them (like I had to routinely do to hotel guests). |
