I thought I'd let you all know that the BLUEHOLME™ Journeymanne Rules art-funding Kickstarter is going to launch pretty soon, and what a journey it's been! I am in the process of getting detailed quotations from the artists who've agreed to be part of it, after which I can finalise the funding and stretch goal levels and finally go live. I just realised how many artists I've got on board (funding permitting), but I think they will all work well together in one book given their styles. One advantages of having this number of people is that the art will be done much faster once the campaign is over - if I dumped all this on poor Jean-Francois Beaulieu he would no doubt run a mile. For those of you who haven't heard of this game, it started as a clone of the Holmes Basic rules. The intention was to both emulate the rules-as-written very closely, and to inject some of Dr J. Eric Holmes's quirky and free-wheeling gaming style into the book. The initial Prentice Rules version (you can grab a pay-what-you-want PDF here) was only for levels 1-3, just like the original. The Journeymanne Rules are for levels 1-20. I was originally going to include all the sub-classes, but that proved to be a bit of a mammoth task and I didn't want to delay this any longer - I can't believe it's been 4 years since I published the Prentice Rules! So I'll probably release the Maester Classes (see the progression?) in dribs and drabs. Anyway, here's a teaser in the form of the KS video:

Vile Traveller, that is a very well done video! Great art, excellent choice of song and it flows really well! I think it is a really good teaser for a Kickstarter!

Thanks, Darci! The video is by Alex Karaczun. I've just sent the last email to my proposed artists, now I wait for their finalised quotations. There seems to be a ton of artwork in this book, so I'll have to set the funding levels in tiers - important artwork first to get it funded, then layers of nice-to-have art as stretch goals. Important means Jean-Francois Beaulieu and Russ Nicholson, later tiers will be a mix of everyone else. There will not be any extra stuff, the manuscript is written and laid out so all backers will have to wait for is the finished artwork to start rolling in. There are a lot of artists, so it shouldn't take too long for each to do their bit. Well I might throw in an introductory adventure/ campaign-building booklet as a final extra if the funding goes through the roof. Think Shrine of Kollchap Sobek.

Why don't you add one more level of backer for about $40 US or (fill in the appropriate amount) , with the option of purchasing both the soft-cover and hard-cover POD at cost.

The Kickstarter is live! We hit the first funding level in 2 hours, but that's only enough for Russ Nicholson. Other artists need food and pens and stuff, too! Please consider backing if you're interested, or just pass the message along the grapevine.
